Probably discussed ad nauseum, but im still irked at the 4th & 2 call at the UK 22, up 3 with 9:30 minutes to go, to go for it.
We have been in this situation before and continue with the same approach. Just makes no sense not to put points on the board.
Especially with Orsan, who is 7-8 with 2 makes over 50.

With the defensive woes if there is a chance for seven instead of three then I say go for it. Looking back the field goal would help South Carolina. The fourth down at mid field is the one I was dissatisfied with.

It's simple math.

Sore = 27-24, you kick the field goal to make it 30-24. - You must assume KY will score a TD, which makes it 30-30. If they kick a PAT and it's good, it's 30-31. If they go for 2 for some strange reason and get it, it's 30-32. Either way, you very likely get a chance to get the ball back and kick a field goal to win it, 33-31 or 33-32.

We seem to be very good at moving the ball between the 20's....so getting the ball back and moving into FG range seems straightforward and a relatively safe bet. We have a very good FG kicker so.... the only answer / reasoning here is PURE T BONEHEADED STUPID CRAP from our HC.

That call + the Fumble by #21, which promptly allowed a KY TD + Beamer being the idiot HC that he is, was the back breaker for this game. No way around it. Simple math. Fire him. Today.

1) The 3pts would have been nice at the end of regulation. 2) The play was there if our QB turns up-field quickly, it was open and a blocker in front of him. He passed on turning up-field, then held it too long to pitch -- then fumbled.

I heard it's happening, and soon.

All they're waiting on is that $50 mil wire transfer from you to clear. (y)

One of the few things I have liked about Beamer is his aggressiveness of 4th downs. Coaches in general kick fg's too much and it's often, but hardly always, a loser move. With that said, I can't believe they didn't kick the fg late. They have fantastic kicker this season, use him, and make Kentucky score a TD. I know the argument the other way - what if we don't stop them. Then fine they may win, they did anyhow. You have to get points there. And besides, it should be easier to get into field goal range than into the endzone.

Related, even though I like the willingness to go for it on 4th down I would really like to know why so many of those plays are gimmicky and seems like they always have been under Beamer. So I have a wondering as to who is actually selecting the plays, this has happened over 4 OC's now. I know the offense sputtered at times last night but they also had some solid drives. I don't get the need to get cute when it simply does not work most of the time in those instances.

I understand the point. I certainly don’t mind his aggressiveness. But, I think that situation, you have to put the pressure on them to score the TD.

We are such a momentum team and had regained it with the long LaNorris 3&12 run and subsequent TD. I just think you have to keep adding on as their previous possession we got a 3 and out.

Jmo, but these gimmicky 4th down calls, and the large number of fakes on special teams are directly from Shane. He so desperately wants "Beamer ball" to be a thing for him, and not just his dad.

Players should have to defend their NIL contracts with incentives tied to:
1) negative turnovers
2) boneheaded plays (a bit subjective, but whatever)
3) blocking grades
4) tackles missed
5) passing interference calls
6) fill in the blank......
