You have to remember, we are going to be cheap like the losers we are and wait until January 1st to fire him, which means that all the decent coaching candidates will be gone. Got to make sure you pick a tight ends coach somewhere.

If Briles has any sense, he's getting out of Dodge before too much Gamecock stink gets on him.
If our AD is competent, Briles, along with the rest of the staff, will be looking for jobs after this year.
I think Briles is alright. If we executed the plays called, we'd be fine. That said.....
We've lost 2 conference games in which we scored 34 points each and led 16-0 and 17-0. If you score 34 points, you should win.
We only topped 34 points 3x last year: SC State, UK and Coastal. However, against SC State we had 14 points on kick returns and we had at least one defensive score against UK, so the offense was not responsible for all of those points.
As frustrating as the offensive execution has been at times, we've scored enough that we should be 4-1 (2-1) right now.
Sorry, I couldn't get behind the guy if he came here. It's like when people have called for Petrino - winning doesn't trump everything for me. I'd just ignore the program until he was gone.

Saw that list on the piece by Bill Trocchi. They've got to write something speculative since there isn't currently an opening at USC - keeps the people talking... and reading.
Mullen is a good guy but his record as a Head Coach is worse than 10 or 11 of the current SEC coaches. He would only be a slight improvement over Beamer.
He had 10 win seasons at Florida didn’t he ?
34-15 not bad though. Maybe 7th overall in the conference consistently and a chance at the playoffs one or two years
He won 10-3 in 2018 and in 2019 went 11-2 and won the orange bowl . 11-2 would be a playoff team
I could be mistaken, but I think Briles came here with the idea of becoming the next hc here, furthermore, I do not want to lose our current OL, RB or Briles. Our current OL and RB coach are doing an absolutely phenomenal job. I would be good with giving Briles the interim, allow him the opportunity to make some tweaks. I don't care of it when some of our fans think we stink and could not hire a good coach.
One of key issues with our offense is still Sellers, he lacks the football IQ to be a great/reliable qb. I was at the game tonight, again, he cannot see wide open receivers in plain view. He got away with some errant throws, almost threw a pick in a critical moment near the end of the game, luckily it was dropped. He isn't terribly accurate either, many low passes or behind the receiver. He is a tremendous athlete for sure, but would be a much bigger asset at a different position in my opinion. Beamer is just married to Sellers so i am sure we will all get to see plenty more of him this season. As far as firing Beamer, that will be extremely expensive, plus with the multiple new assistants with contracts, to me the logical move is to give Briles a chance.
