Landon Tengwall: "This will be a bounce back game for PSU and Rocco"

What everyone here loves Tengwall--despite reality. He's like the new Matt Millen without being an elite player

Think it was a 17-7 lead. Then VT gets ball back on their 20 with 1 min left in the first half and they come out throwing leading to an int.

Oh--good correction--maybe I was confusing it with our game lol

As bad as Rocco is, he did give up 375 yards rushing.

It's not fair. Northwestern is allowed to call plays with the quarterback under center and the running back running downhill. Apparently we aren't allowed to do that.

Numbers are often misleading. Passing yards get "inflated" when you're playing from behind after blowing a 24-7 lead.

Did that help rocco?

I took Northwestern on the money line +120

Fair but still. PSU had been down big points plenty of times in JF’s tenure and didn’t have 400+ passing yards.

We also typically had a run game unlike Va Tech--they average 2 yards per carry today

I hope the stadium is empty for the White Out, why would anyone go?

White out is only a minor problem. You have tons of empty seats now and are asking for astronomical ticket increases next year.

Another batted ball...WTF?

For the love of Christ pull this kid and never play him again

But that's a low bar the past 2 weeks

EricStratton-RushChairman · Friday at 9:56 PM

They need to cut about a dozen sacks of shiitt starting with this ******* of a qb

cntblvitsbutter · Friday at 9:56 PM

Hmmm. Another tipped pass. Think defenders know to put their hands up in the direction he's looking?

A lot of his is on the OL--Becht has been horrible (not throwing in rhythm at all) but the OL is almost as bad as the run D--almost

You have to stop--your emotion is blinding you. You're frustrated like they are--no one "quit"--they're just a mess right now--have to fix a lot of things but "they're going through the motions" is what you want to be true not what is happening. That's what happened last year against UCLA and NW

They didn’t “quit”. Because they never got started.

I’m out…see you guys at the next blowout.

Becht needs a step ladder to throw the ball I guess.

PSUfreak2008 · Friday at 9:56 PM

Is this the most embarrassing PSU loss ever? Gotta be up there

Player2BNamedL8r · Friday at 9:56 PM

A lot to blame for this mess. A lot of hubris at the top of Penn State’s athletic department led to a significantly deficient hiring process, which tipped the first domino that led us to this underwhelming product. I’m willing to give Campbell the time to turn things around, but if Kraft’s seat isn’t red hot by season’s end, this program is going to fall apart in short order.

Calabrin · Friday at 9:56 PM

This needs to be Rocco’s last start. Continuing to play him after today is indefensible. How many awful games does he need to stack up before you say, “Enough!”?

Doesn't help he has a sidearm throwing motion.

Herbie is elite which is why you dislike him
Blackledge is elite which you'll acknowledge because of his bias toward us

Embarassing performance!!!

Becht is too short and has to be replaced. Season is over.

Connorpozlee · Friday at 9:59 PM

I never come into these in-game threads and I haven’t read this one. I’m just popping into to this one to say that Campbell better have money to buy players with Big10 level athletic ability this offseason because (unsurprisingly) this Iowa State group isn’t even close.

Yup, I noticed that too. The bottom line is the kid needs to be benched.

I get the anger right now but I have no idea what people wanted considering when he was hired
We'll have tons of money this offseason to spend

Why is the 5'7" kid still in there throwing interceptions cause he cant see over the line of scrimmage. Coach teo weeks in a row no production. This was the BTen? Now we're the mac. He's creating the adversity
