This was Biden's argument, too - and it's actually a fair argument - but it didn't work for Biden beyond his base. I'm not sure it will work for anyone this time, but I'm surprised we aren't hearing it from the Rs.

Better is a relative term.

What would inflation be if Trump never uttered the word tariff and hadn't started a war with Iran?
What would inflation be if Trump had actually worked on cutting US deficits and debt instead of trying to get revenge on Democrats?

Every currency is a USD derivative. Because of this our number one export is inflation.

The dollar milkshake theory does a good job of explaining this.

Yes,.. Biden did in fact cause the excessive level of inflation that occurred on his watch,... Throwing gas on a fire is never a good idea.

So basically it's to America's advantage to regularly create financial crises.

Clearly Trump is a star.

Of course, if you parse that a bit and ask exactly which Americans benefit most, and ignore who gets hurt, that's a less attractive picture.

I wouldn’t say it’s an advantage to create inflation. It is an advantage that a lot of our inflation is exported, but that doesn’t mean it’s good. Just that the rest of the world subsidizes our inflationary polices.

We are now sending a third carrier strike group (USS Theodore Roosevelt) to the middle east, along with 10,000 marines, so Trump can begin bombing again after the midterms, as he has suggested recently. Should do great things for inflation, oil and diesel.
