Iowa had enough 4-8 yard runs to where Mich was still playing the run in the box.
After the hawks drove and then had the deflected pass that was caught by Vonamme the hawks had 1st and 10 at the Mich 16 yard line. The hawks lined up with two WRs, one being RVZ on the right side. A running back was in the backfield with Brown in shotgun and two TEnds in tight. This was a heavy run look formation so Mich had 7 in the box to start.
Mich was man to man on the two outside receivers and had both safeties at the 5 to the goal line split on the hash marks. The Mich back seven were signaling each other and a few counts before the snap one of the safeties moved toward the LOS and joined the LBkrs. The remaining safety moved to the center of the field by the goal line. This 8 in the box really opened up the quick slant to RVZ.
You know the rest, Brown fakes a handoff to the running back, Mich crashes the LOS, RVZ gets a good release inside beats his man and catches the pass, the lone safety in the middle is to far away to break up the pass. All that running does help set up some big plays and I think Lester is really good at dialing up these plays at the right time.
