Post-game thoughts
  • All this talk about size, and the interior IOL got pushed around all game. Has a DT made an impact play all year?
  • How many first drive field goals do we have this year? Time to start going for it on 4th and short.
  • 3rd and 7-10 in our own territory, OC doesn’t trust becht so we run and punt
  • No RB screens or swing passes
  • No WR screens
  • Nothing over the middle of the field
They had at least 2 swing passes to Q...one Rocco missed badly on

Yikes. My 9-3 prediction is not looking good right now. This offense is offensive.
was it the offense or the game plan....you can't lose a 17 point lead....we just decided to let the defense win it and....we've seen this movie quite a few times

Yep let’s throw on 1st down with 8 minutes left up by ten. Then end out only burning 1 minute off clock without Wisky using a TO.

game would be over if you take 2-3 minutes off the clock and punt at that point in time
Don't forget the wasted TO at the start of the 4th.

Time will tell whether Campbell can handle a program like Penn State. The early results aren’t great.

Pat Kraft may be in trouble here. He took a big swing.

If Chessney continues his success at UCLA, Kraft should definitely be shown the door. Supposedly Chessney wanted to go to PSU, but nobody contacted him - by the time Kraft reached him like a week late, Chessney had already come to terms with UCLA - to try to get him to reconsider, Kraft told him some lame bs about not being able to find his contact info (which apparently Chessney found insulting). Got played by the BYU coach, couldn't land a National Profile young coach who grew up in Central Pennsylvania and wanted to coach at PSU allowing UCLA to sign him..... paid Cambell big $$$..... Today was flat embarrassing and it is definitely on Kraft's lap.

Yeah, 12 years wasn't enough for you? Should we have given him 24 years to win a game that matters. That said this was a pathetic performance.
What rock were you living under when Penn State won the Big Ten Championship in 2016? I am still rooting for Campbell but what game that matters has he ever won?

Hokies haven’t had a better QB than PSU since Michael Vick.qb
That being said, Grunkenmeyer seemed to be one of the most accurate freshman QBs we've had in a long time. He didn't have Allar's arm talent, but his passes were on the money.

Lol so Kraft couldn’t find Chesney’s contact info either? He said he couldn’t find Campbell’s contact info either. Hard to believe.

Not panicking yet. Extremely disappointed. Too many missed opportunities. Brecht was awful all game. We will find out how good of a coach Campbell is.

Franklin’s one saving grace was doing well in recruiting. Campbell was given a rough task and made a stew with what he could - will see what this team can do in a year or two when he’s had some time to actually build his team here. Next two seasons will be worse than I thought.

I loved the kid and was very disappointed when he left. On top of what you pointed out, he handled adversity like a boss. Nothing we can do though, Campbell went all in on Becht and Maske.

I have a genuine beef with fat DT's having played behind one until the last couple games when the coaches realized he was fat and didn't cover his assignments. I knew it because I played OL against the fat phuck during practice. He'd stand up looking for the play and I'd just push him away.

Sorry for the beef. I'm pissed off.

Actually they tried to string Chesney along while they chased bigger names. He got tired of being played and took the UCLA job. Someday folks will realize how bad Kraft has been.

Well, not sure that's totally accurate. Campbell was said to avoid any discussions during the season. Once it was over, game on.

Not sure about the other guy.

It’s starting to look like Becht is the second coming of Matt Seneca. Perhaps the worst QB performance I have ever seen by a Penn State starting QB.

You were the one under the rock. His numbers against teams that matter were abysmal. They gave him 12 years to change that and he never did. Campbell may not be the answer either.

Looks like CMC has found out how much better the B10 is than the Big 12.
Lol, Campbell lost very head scratching games every year at ISU. Colorado & Arizona State last year for example…. Mouser was just as disliked at ISU as he will be with you guys. Way over his head.

Given the amount of $$$ Kraft is paying Campbell and player's Campbell brought with him - tonight was unacceptable. Just a gawd awful joke that could have been done at a fraction of what Kraft has spent for this hot mess - Kraft should be held primarily responsible for this unacceptable crap-show.
