There’s not a coach at any level of football that elect to kick a 51 yard field goal down five with 2 1/2 minutes left on 4th and 6. Not a single ******* one.

Maybe with stevens but no way with Buhr

Jonesy5960 · Saturday at 5:49 PM

Said it 100 times. Can't win games against good teams scoring 7 points. Still ridiculously bad offense.

Franisdaman · Saturday at 5:49 PM

Iowa scoring:

8: Special teams
6: Offense
0: Defense

Thoughts? LOL

Sett1997 · Saturday at 5:49 PM

Lmao. How stupid. Field goal. Lol

wilson reborn · Saturday at 5:49 PM

Defense has played well. Offense, you get one more shot

Maybe the worst call ever made. Omg!

No, taking a knee at OSU in 2009 is still the worst call of Ferentz’s career and it isn’t even close.

But this was just straight stupid.

This Is why you don’t win big game, not playing too win!

Ferentz has never played to win in big games (very few exceptions)

paednoch23 · Saturday at 5:50 PM

he doesn’t trust 6 inches? But now he thinks they can drive the field for a TD?

Well, to be fair, there was one.

What a bunch of ***** *** football there at the end. What do you have to lose? You’re in the big house. Take a chance.

KF is the most risk averse POS coach in the history of coaching football at ANY level. Why people still want his crap, outdated mentality on the sidelines is beyond comprehension.

We just don’t have the talent to try and hang around and won in the fourth quarter, need to be lucky

Also not even giving your offense a chance to convert a 4th down there....

ONE coach in the country that kicks that FG.... And we got him

EvilMonkeyInTheCloset · Saturday at 5:50 PM

Welp, last chance to have Lester dial up some check downs for Hank and not risk turning the ball over until next week, Kirk.

You got this!!!

uihawk82 · Saturday at 5:50 PM

what, go for it. gees

Defense has played well despite being on the field most of the game which is the same old story every year

Iowa State game ending from last season in 3…2..1…

I take it back. He should have gone for it. I don’t trust our kickers over 50 at this point. Under 40 it was the right call. The kicker let Kirk down.

It was the wrong call regardles.

We deserved a chance at 4th and 1!

Gave up on the chance on 4th and 6.

GUTLESS

Moral · Saturday at 5:51 PM

Plenty of time.

RO Hawk44 · Saturday at 5:51 PM

Pass up a 4th and 6 with lots of time to hopefully have to go 80 yards with not much time.

HAWKNESS · Saturday at 5:51 PM

Kicking a field goal down 5 with 3 minutes left is ridiculously conservative even for Kirk

Mattski · Saturday at 5:51 PM

Lost 10 of last 11 against ranked teams... gee I wonder why

LetsGoHawks83 · Saturday at 5:51 PM

ZERO punt return yards today?

Excellent

Manfredi · Saturday at 5:52 PM

Good job James

Herky T Hawk · Saturday at 5:52 PM

Turnover on downs?
Or backbreaking interception?

What in the wonderful world of F* are we watching today?

Classic Iowa football where we can look at nice things through a window....but aren't allowed to touch.

1,000%. That's when he lost me for good.

You go for it. Longest field goal of a kickers career to be behind by 2 points still or 6 yards to try and go ahead. No brainer.

hawx · Saturday at 5:52 PM

Why are we still letting James return

HawkBall23 · Saturday at 5:52 PM

Lost yards AND seconds by not fair catching that.

The stupid cowardice knows no bounds in Iowa games.

UIAlumFireFighter · Saturday at 5:52 PM

More pu**y football

Anon1750875978 · Saturday at 5:52 PM

Grab the damn punt!!!!!!

These guys are coached play afraid.

Iowameat · Saturday at 5:52 PM

Down field

3-D_chess · Saturday at 5:52 PM

He was told not to return it ?????

Manfredi · Saturday at 5:53 PM

Jesus ..no pass under 20 yards

HawkBall23 · Saturday at 5:53 PM

A 3 yard out.

And then a dropped INT that would have ended it off the ricochet.

lulz

Demger · Saturday at 5:53 PM

With one timeout left, why would we throw a 4 yard out 90 yards away from a TD??

Jonesy5960 · Saturday at 5:54 PM

James F'd that up.

Franisdaman · Saturday at 5:54 PM

What can Brown do for you?
