I won't rehash the whole thing, but I found this statement quite funny:

"That history suggests something important: South Carolina has generally tolerated considerable inconsistency from coaches before making a change."

Chatgpt is correct. The admin is going to give Beamer every last chance to keep his job.

Head football coaches leave here retired or accepting a lower level coaching position at another school. They never are head coaches again but they all leave here significantly more wealthy than when they arrived. They never have to work again unless they choose to.

Unfortunately, our new AD was given a bad hand. He came into this job needing a baseball coach, a men's basketball coach, and a football coach all at the same time. Buyouts aren't cheap. I think a second ax will fall in 2027, but will it be basketball or football? Beamer's buyout is still pretty pricey. Then again, we may just write basketball off. Who knows?!

Speaking of loser old coaches there is Chump coaching at Texas. When did that happen? Did UGA fire him?

You fail as a coach at different schools, always able to pick up a plumb position coach at another school. What a career

All this money in buyouts, yet here we are paying the one responsible for all of the ridiculous buyouts nearly a $mill per year…… He should have to pony up for the buyouts himself!!

perhaps a more amusing question would have been, which qtr will Sellers commit his first turnover?

We should just embrace the chicken curse and change our name to the Carolina Curses with Cursy as our Vòo Doo man mascot.

Donati was able to save some money on the Paris buyout by retaining him for the least popular of men's sports and addressing a more popular men's sport. I have to give the new baseball credit, doing a fantastic job in recruiting and getting energy back into the program. I think Donati helped Beamer with his decision making, firing Teasley along with hiring Briles along with his OL (who has done a fantastic job by the way) and the new RB, who also looks to be doing a terrific job. Honestly, I am more concerned about losing the terrific offensive staff we have now. As Briles has only been coaching Sellers for a short time, I sort of give him a pass, plus he inherited a complete train wreck from Mike Shula.

Beisbol is not more popular than MBB by a long shot.

I respectfully disagree, 2 national titles with baseball, until the last several years, the Carolina baseball program was very well regarded. I am hoping Kevin Schnall can return the program to winning the SEC and getting back into the National contention, he is off to a great start. I think it was far more important to more gamecock fans to see the baseball program get back to the winning ways it was known for, go gameocks.

The question isn't which program has more trophies. In their best season baseball averages 6,500-7,100/game. In an average season MBB average 2x that amount. Plus, MBB generates 2x-3x more revenue.

I think Sparky Woods was head coach at VMI years after his departure from Columbia.
