Anyone else notcie Dowell Loggains has App State at 3-0 with a win over East Carolina

3-0 and At NC State this week, should be interesting.

This is not saying he should be our next coach, just he got dumped on alot for his first year there and he gets dumped on alot for his 2 years as OC here, but he had a really bad OL coach and was the last guy to have LaNorris playing well, as a young player, at that, its been all donwhill since that guy took off for LaNorris.

Hopefully Briles gets LaNorris turned around, and I think he can.

His second year is off to a good start and maybe it continues to go well for him, I hope it does. But he got dumped on here because he wasn't a good OC. He wasn't a good one in the NFL. I don't know why Beamer brought him here nor did it ever make sense for App St to hire him, but good for him.

I recall one remarkable play he called - the shovel pass that Rocket took and ran over a few Missouri defenders to win that game in the waning seconds. It was a very different type of play for that offense. Generally the guy hated using the whole field. Loved running up the middle or throwing beyond the sticks on every down except 3rd. Where I believe he showed some intelligence was realizing how to use Sellers athleticism. It was like he would just have all receivers run down field and then hope LaNorris would be able to take off and do something. It worked alot in the second half of 2024.

he was best oc for sellars, simplistic o,very much Ala auburn cam Newton.
he knew sellars not pocket passer, also sellars had some good big recievers especially Simons,
unfortunately briles is like Shula, sellars again not pocket passer!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know about East Carolina, but their other two wins are over Maine and Charlotte. Charlotte is really bad. I watched the ending of their OT loss to the Citadel while our game was in a weather delay. Maine beat Towson by 3 points. 3-0 is 3-0, but I think that App. State's real challenges will come when they start conference play.

Loggains what wise enough to just let Sellers be Sellers and nothing more, then capitalized on Sellers brief success by landing the App State job. Personally I think App State would have hired much better because Loggains is not so great.

Dumped? Beamer would have loved to have kept him as OC. App State HC was what he wanted.
