Any news on Williams?

Update: Torn tendon in quad as per his mother's FB post. Seemed much more serious. Hope the big fellow heals quickly!
If it’s a torn quad tendon, that IS pretty serious. That is a long rehab for just your average person. For an athlete to return to sport, I’m not even sure. Greater than one year if I had to form a guess.
I am a physical therapist, but I’ve always worked in the geriatric population. I’m not super familiar with “sports rehab” time frames, so I googled it AFTER I posted like a true message board genius. Looks like it’s closer to 9 months. Unfortunately, his college career is most likely over, and I hate that for him. But you could tell by his reaction on the field that he most likely already knew that. One of the hardest things I’ve had to watch on a football field in some time. Gut wrenching.
I think he has a shot at a medical RS. Could be wrong.
Medical Waiver now. He played in 3 games though so since the term redshirt no longer exists, the 4 game rule is null and void.

He redshirted in 22 and was granted a medical waiver in 23 according to his bio. So technically he had another year left before this 5 for 5 stuff, but who 17n knows now
Both him and Dink have another year due to injuries. These should be grandfathered in since both had injuries early in careers.
We will see some of that paperwork was filed before 5 for 5 and my understanding is that have some wiggle room for players like Dink and Williams.
Agree, you could just tell that him pounding his fists and hitting himself was knowing (or assuming) his career was done.
Horrible to watch. I hope we do what we can to get him another shot, if that's possible.
If the 5 years to play 5 rule didn't apply to the NFL camp players, I don't know how they could apply it to our two guys. But it's the NCAA so who knows?
Recovery time for a torn tendon is 6-12 months. He's done as far as his participation this season is concerned.
Guy was/is obviously a team leader. I’ve seen plenty of video with him leading warmups and firing up teammates.
