It was not clear to me what happened.

The ref ran into a player on the sideline that was not where he was supposed to be. Could have been a sideline warning or could have been a penalty. Shows the level of respect for beams the SEC has.

I have never seen this called - BS like one of the terrible pass interference calls on us in the end zone. Tommy and Todd said the ref right there in the end zone near the play didn`t call it but the ref under the goalposts did.

Flag could have stayed in the pocket just like the hands to the face call on our DB with a receiver not involved in the play and having no impact on the play. Didn't we recover a fumble on that play when DLineman knocked the ball out of QB's hand as he attempted a pass? Huge turnaround. Forgive me if the old man memory is failing again.

Yes!!! And a TD after that recovered fumble, along with TDs instead of FGs would have put us at 42pts, In. The. First. Half!!

I don't have an opinion as to whether the call was BS or not . . . because I never saw it. I can't recall ever seeing a 15 yard penalty in a game where the video was never broadcast, either in real time or replay.

The ref has no idea if the receiver is involved in the play or not as you seem to be defining involved since it was a run play. But he did have an assignment on that play to block the man in front of him. The official made a call on some activity that was fairly close to him and easy to see.

You're correct that negated a fumble recovery around the MSU 5. So it hurt alot in the moment. But given how the second half went, I don't know how much it really mattered.
