Are any of you honestly surprised by last night's outcome?

After the first half I was pleasantly surprised that we were winning this game. Then it dawned on me that we left at least two TD’s out there where inept play forced us to take a FG instead of a TD. The fact that we quickly blew three timeouts in the first quarter reminded me that Beamer is our coach and we have a new season of poor clock management to look forward to. In the second half our lack of decent DB’s was quickly exposed. Sellers showed that he is not a real SEC caliber QB, that he has no field vision whatsoever. So yes, I knew MSU would come back and win because they are better coached and have better players in spite of what the rankings say.

Calling running plays 18 behind and 6 minutes left??? That's irresponsible and DUMB Bad coaching all the way around the players looked clueless even in the first half when MS ST was trying to give the game to us. In Spurrier's words "Any time you go down there and have to kick a bunch of field goals you're not going to win many games"

During the game, I told my family "you can't win with field goals". That's 8 points we left on the table.

I actually thought we would win this game going in and was happy with the halftime lead but totally dismayed by our situation management of the 1st and goal opportunities in the first quarter. Was concerned this would come back to bite us. I was totally caught off guard by the play of our secondary and the inexcusable "arm tackling'' with ball carriers bouncing off for huge gains. We have been known for producing all-conference/all pro DB's/Safeties but if last night was not an anomaly we have lost that moniker of DBU. The question for the remainder of the season, poor coaching which we are stuck with or poor performance which could be correctable?

someone asked how I don't get nervous before our games, I'm 66 and have been here done this so many times. beamer is nice guy, he sux as coach, fundamentals, clock management, and lack of player development r continue issues, 1st yr of sellars loggins threw out play book, made the routes simple, told the kid to create plus had stud rb, at least 2 stud receivers,Simon was 6'6" 260, and a solid d briles offense doesnt look different from Shula, trying to make sellars into pocket passer, where were the screens, flare outs, etc sellars isn't going to hit tight windows, let him create he shines, only problem is that harbor is best receiver, not good , the mere change of oc wasn't going to change 4-8 team much, beamer should have been fired last yr how many do we win total, , lucky 5 games bama going to hang 60 on us go to soccer games, lot less cost and men #1, dawn girls tip off 11/2-i can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m 72, got six years on ya. Can’t argue with anything you said.

Offensive line is significantly improved; pleasant surprise.

No 28 and no 21 are legit running backs; not Rocket level but certainly effective enough.

Nothing left to say on no. 16.

Our receivers are just poor; sorry. No fire, no aggression, no ‘want to’ period.

The refs have no fear or respect for Beamer; none.

If this new AD is the tough guy he’s said to be I don’t see Beams lasting the season.

I try not to expect us to collapse in the second half, but in year 6 with Beamer I should probably accept that this is to be expected.

After seeing how we played against Towson, I had this one figured as an L. People like to make excuses for underperforming in early games or games against inferior opponents, but if you really watch, those games show you exactly who you are. And the Towson game showed that we aren’t good.

Unfortunately, another season of mediocre football is quickly settling in. THIS IS CAROLINA FOOTBALL. Nothing changes.
I thought we would win.... but I REALLY wasn't surprised by the outcome at halftime when we had those 3 first half FGs instead of TDs. Always comes back to get you....always.
