But don't worry, by the end of this week I will convince myself that not only will my Wolverines win but you won't have a chance.

The bottom line is this is perfect for KF. He will come up with a game plan to make it the most boring game in the history of CFB (it will be such a boring game) and wait for Michigan to shoot itself in the foot. Michigan has some talent (see I'm already convincing myself) but doesn't have the discipline right now.

That’s actually a smart game plan. I’m sure Phil will make things confusing for Underwood, who appears to be easily confused.

i respect phil parker, but i don't think iowa has players on defense as good as oklahoma..and venables is also a highly regarded dc...should be a close game, probably decided by TO's or special teams..

I'm actually being serious and that's kind of what I meant...though I don't think Parker needs to overthink it. Just play basic fundamental D, keep the ball in front of you (e.g. don't give up big plays) and just wait for Underwood to confuse himself.

I think we have better defenders than Western Michigan
lol, i'm sure you do...honestly, it was the first game that the staff coached underwood, and WOTS is that they were shocked that he couldn't run the offense as well as he did in practice..the entire gameplan for wmu had been predicated by what they saw in fall camp...when he pooped his pants in an actual game, they were surprised and had to try to cobble offense together on the fly during the game...games 2 and 3 are a realistic expectation of what Michigan's offense is going to be going forward...i would expect underwood to run 12-15 times if iowa shows looks that he struggles with early..

#1....nobody knows nothing at this point.

#2 .. conference games do narrow the focus.

#3...more than ever, with so much player turnover, it's a crapshoot on who can really play....

#4... Michigan always has talent edge with their 10 million dollar QB vs our 10 dollar QB

5... But that's why they play the game on grass, not paper.

If Michigan were smart, they would do what you suggested in the op. Why wouldn't Michigan make it boring? I am not trying to be a jerk but I'm not seeing it with Underwood. His decision making is still questionable and he's not super accurate. He can run and he can make people miss. Why wouldn't Michigan ugly up the game and try to keep the ball on the ground against a defense that's pretty much all new in the front 7?

As far as athletes go, we never are going to have the money to out recruit anyone. We will try to out work you though.

Mich has a very good defense and so does Iowa so I think the lower scoring type game is probable. If Hank Brown and the Iowa passing game works then Mich might have to be in a lighter box defensively so maybe Iowa can pound the ball also. We shall see if Mich can consistently run the ball on Iowa.

And there might be some big plays one way or the other, there usually are, that is the difference.

It's going to be a very close game either way. QB play will likely decide things. Our starter was 12-12 for 153 yards and 2 TD's yesterday. How did yours look?

was trying to be civil..iowa has played one decent P4 team at home and looked pedestrian on offense..game will be close, but iowa doesn't have the defense it had last year, and the offense is still suspect..and the game won't be played in the cozy confines of kinnick..
Take your civility and shove it up your ***. **** Meatchicken and Ann Arbor is a *****.

That's an interesting point/question...I'm asking myself the same thing

Michigan is trying to run a complicated O that has a lot of east/west stuff. It's not working one bit.

Looked fine...I guess

The problem is the design of our O...it tries to do too much...our OL and blocking is lost in space...

Michigan's D is not the problem. And the DL is the strength of this team. And the DBs can cover. Loaded box or drop 8...this D can do its job.

The problem is our O...and it's not just inability to move the ball...it's making mistakes that lead to points for other teams

That's why KF will win this game...he knows that and will design a game plan to let Michigan hand it to him

Iowa has typically struggled with mobile QBs

Honestly I think that Iowa is better offensively AND defensively than Michigan right now and if this game were being played in Kinnick that Iowa would win by multiple scores. I just don't know how our QB is going to respond to a big game in a hostile environment.

Your friend says the defense isn't as good as last year, and the jury is still out because like most of the country they only played one decent opponent, but they do lead the country in points allowed and yardage allowed and have only allowed one touchdown through 3 games. Michigan's offense isn't very good. I expect them to struggle mightily in this game and a score similar to what we saw vs ISU wouldn't surprise me at all.
