He hires coordinators
He recruits QBs and sets depth charts
He makes substitutions
Spurrier woulda had Woods in at QB in the 3rd quarter
Because if the turd on the field isn't on the HC then none of them would ever be fired.
His success as a HC shows it wasnt too much, just unconventional but it worked in his programs
Sometimes he did, but it also worked sometimes. He treated it like any other position, if you need to sit for a moment you will and someone else will get a shot. I don't know why more coaches don't do it.
After two absolutely unexplainable interceptions I'm not sure Sparky wouldn't have.
Why are we still talking about this guy? He went 4-8 at Liberty last year with an NIL budgets that dwarfs the rest of his conference. I’m all for the Beamer hate, but my Lord, Chadwell wasn’t the answer then and sure as heck isn’t the answer now.
Yes they were wrecked byy injuries last year. The reason we are talking is bc that hiring decision is symbolic of USC football, how we had a clear proven winner right bere in-state w 20 year’s worth of in-state recruiting ties and winning championships, and our fans turned our noses bc “he aint got SEC experience” and instead hired a position coach with no experience.
We are intoxicated w that SEC patch, as if our absolute mediocrity is ok bc at least we can say we are in the SEC.

Yes. I’ve been on the train for fire Beamer for years because I just have never thought he was a good coach.
But please tell me who in CUSA would have any budget near a private institution that has a cult-like following? You can’t find specific numbers because it’s a private school, much like Vandy. But it is a very popular opinion of college football media that Liberty outspends the rest of their conference handsomely.
Dude. It is obvious that “in-state recruiting” is not getting us anywhere currently. We brought in like 4-5 of the top guys in the state the past couple years. Should we hire Dutch Fork’s coach because he also has recruiting ties in the state?
I just cant condemn (maybe too strong of a word) a coach on innuendo of NiL expenditures.
I read above where he was hit hard by injuries last year? If he has a decent season this year, hes right back in the hunt for bigger jobs.
I guess i just find the comparisons interesting. This guy, even Heupel and Kiffin were held up as comparisons when we went after Beamer. Its interesting to me to see how each has played out.
