1. ESL (4-1) - begins the dismantling of the Southwestern Conference by dismissing Belleville E

2. MC (4-1) - Caravan got their first clock of the season against the Shamrocks of St Pats

3. Loyola (5-0) - it was 7-7 then Loyola scorer a bunch of TDs. They may still be scoring TD right now.

4. LWE (5-0) - Sandburg gave them a little test before Cawthon and the Griffins took over

5. Hersey (5-0) - week 9 is Prospect week

6. DGN (5-0) - Trojans keep rolling and I dont like it. Next week brings a sneaky OPRF

7. Rochester (5-0) - Chatham Glenwood is next on the docket

8. Prospect (5-0) - Hersey is week 9

9. Rice (3-2) - big game against MC this week, Crusaders want to be mentioned amongst the top teams

10. Bolingbrook (4-1) - D is looking solid, O needs to get it going.

IC's opponents have 16 wins, while Rochester's have 11. The win over Ignatius is increasingly looking like a feather in their cap.

Indeed. I took a long hard look at both and was close to putting IC at 10. Also, soon the Batavia win will wear off, theyve been lucky that other teams are taking losses.

By the way, how about your guys at the Brook? About to waltz into the playoffs at 8-1! Am I going crazy, or is this a new schedule for them? I thought they played Lincoln-Way East every year.

Im running out of teams. IC is up next.

Can't tell what the offense is doing against Plainfield C, but shutting out Oswego's offense plus two near shutouts against Simeon and Yorkville (had the offense not turned the ball over inside the 20) buys some time for the O to get to at least as good as last year.

This is the 3rd year in the SouthWest Prairie, 3 years since we played East. HF remains on the schedule likely due to the traveling trophy. Personally I think we should play girls basketball for the trophy then when we win it stop the series indefinitely

Cant get blank 31-0 and be in the top 10. They are.much improved but their competition is not the best they should be 8-1 going into the playoffs.

Geneva is my #1 Dukane team, then Batavia, then WN. But we will see this week as Geneva plays Batavia.

Sadly its where Im at. If youre going to drop a dud and get smacked week 1 is the week to do it. And with everyone either having a bad loss or looking for a big win I gotta go somewhere. Maine South and Batavia are also on the verge.

Flags are really hurting the Wolverines all season. Refs flagged them and King to death yesterday. Think it stopped more Simeon drives though.

Not necessarily the issue, IC would possibly be 11 if I had one. I just wasnt as high on Fenwick as other pollsters. They were losing to an improved OPRF at half. The apparent demolition of Rita has been noted, but now Rita has been smacked around 2x and lost to Providence who hasnt impressed the voters.

But my next 5 appear to be (no order): IC, Batavia, MS, Iggy, Oswego

Where does Homewood-Flossmoor go? They're 3-2 against one of the strongest schedules that any public school has faced so far.

Right now the playoff outlook has them as the 2nd largest school in 5A.

Their inconsistency is consistent and its starting to be a thorn. Theyre a team with a high ceiling and a floor lower than youd expect for a team with a high ceiling, and they fluctuate within that range a lot. Where are they? Between 6 and 30.

Outside of the usual suspects (MtC, Loyola, LWE) there is a lot of parity in 8A.
