Football GAMEDAY THREAD: Rutgers Football versus USC

Schiano let the USC ranking dictate that risky 4th down play. We were toe-to-toe and our D was doing pretty well (with our offense gifting points to Trojans). Just punt it away and D up. Idiocy.
Team has some parts. Just don’t know if they can overcome the absolutely awful coaching.
Where are the sacks. The forced fumbles. Interceptions. Batted balls. Defensive passed defended. Tips and picks. Tackles for loss. QB pressures. There has been absolutely nothing through 3 ******* games.
Funny to see here so many blame GS for the office to play calls, defensive, play, calls, and player substitutions. Do people really think that GS called that fourth down play in case he did not? Or that keeping four in and playing 41 who only throws his arm into people and can’t wrap up is not the DC‘s call?

He knows how to lose with a little flair. But, the bread is stale and the circus is boring now.
It’s not the play call, it’s the decision not to punt. Surely that’s on Greg.
I say this every year, but right now there are backup QBs at schools like North Texas, and SMU, and Texas State who would be our best QB in two decades and who would kill to start in the Big 10.
Whoever called the play should go with him. I've counted three (or is it four?) one-yard, fourth-down plays just like that one, failing every time. That should have been a punt.
Can the D make one more stop? This game has already exceeded expectations.
Greg is the head coach. If he isn't making the decision on what to run from 4th and a foot on his own 20 yard line, that's his fault.
Why hand them the short field if they can score at will? Punt it away and make them work for it.
Wow amazing people think that the individual players are called by the head coach. I would assume in a rare situation that occurs, but in general, the coordinators are calling to place and that may give some concept to what’s occurring.

Ugh. #1 and #4 had Miller dead-to-rights behind the LOS. But can't tackle.
If you think the slow subs on defense to drain the playclock are anyone's idea but Gary's, well then your a silly goose.
Remember - literally no one decent would answer his phone call. He runs the show.
