The FCS schools need the revenue. But I do agree.P4 schools should not schedule FCS schools in football.
They need revenue to build. Without the ability to play these game North Dakota state etc. would not be where they are now . The used the money to build facilities to attract better recruits and coaches. But I agree Oregon and other P4 should not be playing A Portland State .P4 schools should not schedule FCS schools in football.
Didn't they play last week? 47-23.And it’s an AWFUL FCS school that UND would gang bang by 50 points.
Good ole dingle. That’s hilariousDidn't they play last week? 47-23.
UND played almost their whole roster. Portland State is awful.Didn't they play last week? 47-23.
I think people are mad that they lost to a team that hadn't won a power 4 game in years and then bullied on an FCS program that they paid to play them. I don't think Nebraska ever lost to a team that was the worst team in conference football and then ran it up the next week.We might have been on the wrong side of this in the 80’s and 90’s. Just saying. It’s kind of what we were known for.
Yeah, beating teams in the 80s and 90s like Arizona State, UCLA, Minnesota....you see the difference, no?We might have been on the wrong side of this in the 80’s and 90’s. Just saying. It’s kind of what we were known for.
He's just another Iowa loser posing as a Husker. These dorks are a pathetic bunch.Yeah, beating teams in the 80s and 90s like Arizona State, UCLA, Minnesota....you see the difference, no?
I could not care less about Dylan and the Ducks. I live in the Northwest, so I am sure my dislike for the Ducks is greater than yours. I have years of experiencing their arrogance. How many of you were up at 10:00 pm PDT? I was merely offering up a report. I thought the two main issues Raiola had the last two years with the Huskers was he was slow in recognizing an open receiver and he was slow getting the ball out. He also tended to overthrow his open receivers on long passes. It is obvious he is getting better coaching or at least the Duck's coaches have a better plan for him. They had him throwing quick, short passes. most of the yardage was gained after the catch. He wasn't standing back in the pocket waiting for open receivers. The one time he did that he got sacked. That was the only series he was in at quarterback that the Ducks did not score. I am sure the ineffective and tired Portland State defense helped his performance as well. Even the Duck's 3rd string and 4th string quarterbacks scored TDs in this game. I see no point in P4 schools playing FCS schools. I don't think beating the Fighting Hawks today is going to tell us anything or more importantly make the Huskers a better football team.Pining after the rich chick that dropped us. I do not remember playing too many FCS schools. The Huskers did played Army once back then and I think put up 70 some points on them. I think Tom's plan was always to play two or three average P4 schools. Then every year there was always one showcase nonconference team. Sometimes these showcase teams were down. I remember playing LSU in the seventies when they were not a very good team.We might have been on the wrong side of this in the 80’s and 90’s. Just saying. It’s kind of what we were known for.
That LSU 6-6 tie in 1976 or so, is on my list of most disappointing Husker games. I sat in my car listening to the radio. Crushed…we were supposed to be so good!!I could not care less about Dylan and the Ducks. I live in the Northwest, so I am sure my dislike for the Ducks is greater than yours. Ha, the checker blocked ‘twatz’!Oregon is probably one of the most tone deaf programs in the last 25 years. Raise a glass to them never winning a title! Buncha *****.
I’m not sure I entirely believe in the quality of coaching. Players make plays. Colandrea is out there doing everything, moving away from pressure, pushing the ball down the field and finding his third option when the bigger play isn’t there. Now he’s played two games against pretty weak opponents. Ravioli did too. Until I see him perform at a high level against an opponent of similar strength, he does not get the benefit of the doubt with me.I could not care less about Dylan and the Ducks. Exactly! Portland State waved the white flag early and Oregon kept running it up for ‘style points’. I hope Portland State got paid well at least.
Almost impossible to judge Dylan at Nebraska outside of his stats. He was a good qb, had good stats, and made himself available when his leg wasn't broken. There was always going to be too much drama and politics going on behind the scene and the fact that he was saddled with Satt for his first year could be considered criminal. And then the fact that Rhule had to make a change mid-season just adds to the dysfunction. People conveniently forget that Rhule was being pressured to fire Satt his entire first year, refused to do it, then gloated about how smart he was when we scored a lot against p2w teams, then had to reverse course after getting annihilated by Indiana and going on a losing streak perpetuated by anemic offense. Dylan became a husker against all logic, made himself available, put up with criminal incompetence from his bosses, and took a huge pay cut to go learn from what appeared to be better coaches.I could not care less about Dylan and the Ducks. Pacific, NewMexico State, Utah State….Nebraska always played tough non-conference schedules for most of the 80s. They would frequently play Florida State, Penn State, UCLA, and Arizona State.
The 1987 schedule had UCLA, ASU, and South Carolina. There were also games against Auburn and Iowa in the early 80s.
I agree and I alluded to it one of my first posts how it helped he was playing against Portland State who has already waived a white flag. There was no defense in Portland State's defense. The Duck score easy under the 3rd and 4th string quarterbacks. I do think the Ducks' coaches are on the right track of having Dylan throw quick, short passes to a specific target. I also think it helps he is throwing to better athletes than he ever did at Nebraska. Whether he can replicate this same 11 for 11 passing against Big Ten opponents is doubtful. I also don't think we have an 100% accurate assessment of #10 after two easy wins against Ohio, Bowling Green and from today's game with FCS North Dakota. Not until the Huskers get into BIG play will we know for sure, but he is playing very well so far.I’m not sure I entirely believe in the quality of coaching. Players make plays. I believe K State and Iowa State were both at the bottom of Division I win totals until things got better for them KU and Okie State were often easy wins. I think Tom played something like 25 ranked schools that today would be considered p4 schools in just his first 10 years alone and he won more than half of them. The Huskers used to always played ranked teams in bowls as well.Pacific, NewMexico State, Utah State….
Minnesota was terrible when Tom played them and everybody conveniently forgets how bad KU was in conference. We got them every year. ISU was usually bad as well.
