Personally I think it should, and will be overturned.

It was clear as day the game was over. There has never been a secret clock in college football. This is a time that the outcome can be overtuned, with certainty. There were no further plays that could change the outcome.

If they don't over rule it there should be several lawsuits from multiple angles. The integrity of the game is at stake.

I agree with all those things. However, I don't think it will be turned over, although I think it should be turned over.

I don't think deliberately putting false information into the polls just because we didn't like the outcome is the way to go.

Can you imagine if Michigan is in the hunt at the end of the year?! Oh boy!!!

What would happen if a gambling website sued the Big Ten for declaring the wrong winner?

What it theoretically, the Big Ten and ranking services continue to declare Michigan the winner, but a court of law finds that WMU actually won the game.

That's one of the reasons I think the Big will fight for them. Besides being a member, the conference gets like an extra $4 per school going to the CFP.

This. There are other ways to downgrade them without "falsifying" the W-L column. They won the game - whether they deserve it or not. Michigan should be on notice that one [more] loss could knock them out of playoff contention.

Outcome needs to be reversed. Michigan lost

The only thing I can figure is that the scoreboard clock started a fraction of a second sooner than the official game clock at the snap.

The NCAA says it cannot overturn the result of Saturday’s Western Michigan vs. Michigan football game, which ended in controversy after officials put a second back on the clock, allowing the Wolverines to score a game-winning touchdown.

Earlier this week, Mid-American Conference Commissioner Jon Steinbrecher asked the NCAA to declare Western Michigan, one of its member schools, “as the actual winner of the game for purposes of their respective rankings, evaluations and selection deliberations, and take such other corrective action as may be within their authority.”


Steinbrecher’s request followed a controversial ending to Saturday’s game in Ann Arbor.

The Big Ten officiating crew that night determined a Western Michigan defensive player touched the ball while out of bounds on a last-second Hail Mary by the Wolverines.

After the officials put a second back on the clock, Michigan pulled off an improbable touchdown to win the game, 13-12.

Steinbrecher argued “replay protocol was not properly followed in determining whether time remained on the game clock.”

The NCAA, in a statement to The Hill, said its “football playing rules do not have a protocol for overturning the outcome of a game.”

“No rule decision may be changed after the ball is next legally snapped, legally free-kicked or the second or fourth periods have ended,” the NCAA rules state, with the association noting “the Division I Football Bowl Subdivision Oversight Committee also does not have the authority to overturn the outcome of a game.”

I detest Michigan and WMU certainly was robbed. That last play never should have occurred. But Michigan didn't have the ball inside the 5. WMU sh#t the bed and gave up a terrible Hail Mary TD, which is on them.
