A few things worth noting as context, not as reasons to doubt the data:
- The gains skewed toward higher earners — income rose 1.7% at the 90th percentile with no significant change at the 10th percentile.
- This data covers calendar year 2025 only, before the more recent inflation and energy-price increases in 2026 — so it doesn't reflect the current economic moment.
- The agency itself doesn't attribute causes for the improvement — it just reports the numbers, so any claim about why poverty fell (policy X caused it, etc.) is someone's interpretation, not part of the release itself. That's the part worth scrutinizing if this comes up on the forum, since it's where political spin usually gets attached to otherwise solid data. GNcrypto

Given, I am no mathematician. But I know that the inflation rate is higher now than it was when Biden left office. And I know that interest rates were being cut when Biden was president, and now are being raised under Trump.

It's fun watching all this back and forth as to which was worse....when in reality, Both trump, Biden and you might even throw in Bush and Obama as causes for our debt. There are multiple reasons why we're in the debt position we are today. And while it's a great mental gyration to try to "one up" guys on the other side of the political fence everyone knows why inflation ran so high during Biden and everyone knows why it's running hot now.
For me, it's much more interesting to see ideas on where do we go from here. We're $40tillion in debt and trump's 10 year plan estimates another $15.7 trillion during that period (which is down, not significantly, from Biden's final 10 year estimates of $16.3 trillion). So, think about that....based on current projections we'll be at $55.7 trillion debt in 2036...and we're concerned now about our kids and grandkids futures???
Ironically, I haven't seen anyone running for office even mention this...hear about Medicare for all, free college, $5,000 checks, increased child tax credits....but not decreased spending or higher taxes. You younger guys calling for all the benefits/tax the rich, really are going to be the ones between the rock and hard place, and apparently don't know it.

1.) it is used as intended

The "pandemic plan", as you call it, left in place by the Obama administration was a complete joke given the reality of a global event like the one we experienced,... If you'll recall at the start of the of the pandemic, the "plan", called for the CDC to be sole entity responsible for development, manufacture, distribution, and delivery of any and all vaccine therapies,... There was no pandemic plan.

Yes, and it was still at 6.4% when biden took office. it did not reach pre-pandemic levels until nov 2021. So, by your own logic, biden was correct to issue more stimulus.

Yes we were. Speaking from personal experience, the economy was roaring over the course of Biden's last two years and my company was setting previously unthinkable sales records. Then Trump came in and started his tariff war and we lost multiple huge projects from our biggest clients specifically because of the costs associated with the tariffs and they've been laying off people ever since.

well, here's my viewpoint.....most on here don't believe what trump says until he says something that agrees with their bias...so they claim trump lies all the time, until he doesn't...
So my point is, is you believe trump lies all the time (I don't, by the way), then why do you place so much emphasis or concern on what he says. Because when you do that you're saying he doesn't lie all the time.
Trump says/promises thing that any rational human should know he doesn't have the sole power to do....for example, he's going to end the Ukraine war, or end inflation on day 1. We all knew he couldn't do that...so we put a lot of emphasis on it even though we know it wasn't possible.
And, oh by the way, he's not the sole politician who does this..Mandani, who does not control the MTA promised free fare, yet that decicison wasn't/isn't his...
So why do we put some much emphasis everytime he lies? I know I don't, because I don't believe everything he says...I didn't believe everything Biden or Obama or Bush said either...

I tend to disagree that he lies for no reason, every person who lies has a reason, maybe not a good one.
What I find is that when one party's president says A, the followers of the other say "liar" when what A does not happen exactly as the statement is interpreted. And, you might not be surprised at this, but when president of the other says B and it doesn't happen, the As follow the sate tactic as the Bs did.
If you changed the names in some of the posts now from Trump to Biden, we'd see that a lot of the statements made about trump now were made about Biden then...the only difference is that posters on your side were the defenders then and folks like fatpiggy were the attackers..topics might have been different - Iran war vs afgahnistan withdrawal - but many of the words/statements/accusations were similar.
