MC. Their schedule, expect for ESL, has been ridiculous. And St Joes NJ losses are to national powers. Mc had ESL had ESL in the 4th.
Incorrect narrative regarding the MC/ ESL game.
ESL scored first. MC Answered. ESL scored again MC answered. ESL had a blocked punt safety followed by a kick return for TD. ESL answered with 28-0. At NO point did MC control or dominate the game. MC is a very good team and if played today the game will be different however, the FACTS of that game is there was a series where special team mistakes cost ESL 9 points to which they responded with 28 points.

There is no need to create a narrative that didn't exist. MC don't need help in that area. They are good enough to let the facts speak for themselves.

Well if you’ve seen ESL play Mount Carmel than ESL is the best team that you have seen play. They beat MC by 20 points bc football is played for 4qs. Otherwise we should ding MC for being down 30-0 in the 1q in embarrassing fashion to St Joes. MC is a great team but you cannot say they are better than ESL if you have seen them both play.

Hm, you can definitely argue that MC has a better quality loss tho

MCs loss was to the #33 ranked team. ESL loss was to the #47 ranked team. It was a compliment, i think.
You can't use rankings now, you have to use the rankings at the time.

The question is how can losing to a team that lost to another team is somehow a better loss?

Im not saying I agree. But I think that was the point the other poster was trying to make.

But lets just say ESL had lost to Edwardsville Week 2 instead of AH. You could certainly say MC had a better loss than ESL.

I'm definitely going to miss some, but tops for me would be...
ESL
MC
LWE/LA
Geneva
Rochester
Batavia
HF

I need to watch Montini, PC, and a few others near the top.

I highly suggest that you guys watch Alan vs Desoto

the sophomore QB at Alan is supposed to get his 5th star very soon

I don’t know how you can justify them not being the top team in the country

Illinois

Hersey has a bad *** offense that is really fun to watch

Don’t have to agree. I did mess up however ESL is 1, MC 2 in my opinion (this year)

Writing it like someone who watched too much news or straight up threw it in an AI app with the “false narrative” “FACTS” etc

Roll CCL!

ESL.
I’ve watched MC nearly every week. MC is an incredibly talented team. It might be the best MC team I’ve seen. They got beat by ESL and I watched it happen.
I’ve seen about a quarter of BR games, and I’ve been very impressed. I’ve seen bits of PC, equally impressed.
I have not seen any of LA. I’m sure they’re impressive and I need to see them play. Who am I missing? Rochester? LWE? Bolingbrook?

ESL’s best team in years. Gomiller is the difference. I honestly think if he were 6'2", he’d be rated even higher. Cincinnati is getting a great player.

It’s cold in November, trophies are there to be won, and I’ve got a feeling MC will not disappoint.

If E’ville beat ESL that means they deserved to observed as a better team. Paper rankings do not weigh more than the actual game.

ESL. They won the head to head matchup so as long as they win state they HAVE to finish #1 In IL. I believe the only way they should be unseated is if they don’t win the 7A title.
MC. I see more growing pains than I normally see. Mistakes that I’ve rarely seen before for this program. The penalties it seems have been increasing every year, but I think that’s more of how the game is played and amplified by the coaches tolerance. I believe by the end of the year a lot of this is put to rest and if they close out the season with the 8A trophy they should be a very close #2.
SJR better than both ESL national opponents. Time will tell how their season plays out.
LA They are rolling. If they stay healthy in a couple key positions they will give MC a tough game.

In what way is SJR better that those team
Just a personal observation watching the games…

I’ll follow MC’s National opponent throughout the season. I’ve done it to Hun, Moeller and now SJR usually watching the rebroadcasts over the weekend and keeping up on news/social media of what’s going on. I’ll also watch the ESL national games, but don‘t really continue to concern myself with their opponents after the ESL game is over. Hence, most of what I’ll say about them are player/team rankings, wins/losses and mention their opponent rankings. Rivals has ESL #28, MC #44, Creekside, GA #51, SJR #84, Gainesville, GA #78 & American Heritage #86.

SJR lost their second game the same way they did to MC. Started off strong capitalizing on mistakes and then the opponent adjusted. I’m thinking not having their HC on the sidelines exacerbated play calling and making their own adjustments. HC is back and looked much better in their win last week. Will see soon enough how good they are when the NJ Conference opens up against #1 Don Bosco Prep followed by #3 St. Peter Prep and later #2 Bergen Catholic.

The Creekside, GA team SJR lost to is ranked higher than Gainsville, GA who lost to ESL. Also, Gainesville’s only other win was an 20-10 struggle against McEachern #24 in GA & 210 Nationally. On paper they look better than the results on the field. New Head coach with lots of 3/4 star players. Color me unimpressed with a 20-10 win tho.

American Heritage’s only other win was against Trinity Christian ranked #65 in FL and not ranked nationally. They needed OT to beat them 15-14.

Yea I just went and watched the Gainsville McEchern game. First, I didn’t realize Bryant left Grayson to come back to Gainsville. I don’t know how I missed that during the Buford AND ESL games. However, I still stand by my original statement. Interesting game to say the least. Hopefully Kharim Hughley’s injury isn’t serious, but that Sophomore QB stepped in nicely in the final drive to score the TD & secure the W. The rest of their schedule looks pretty weak so I don’t know if my view on them could change till the playoffs. By that time I’d imagine they’ve figured out the new offense and special teams stops giving up bad field position & points.
I was about to say I have zero interest in watching any of American Heritage’s games, but I’ll follow this weeks game against Lakeland and maybe I’ll watch it later. Might be the only team that will give them a challenge till November if their ranking is accurate.
