Granted he is a highly touted 5 start recruit, but how can a true freshman be thrown into action so soon, yet we have QBs who have 2 or 3 years on the team (Ashenfelder and Surace) who are either purportedly not ready or have not appeared to be ready to play in live game action. 🤦‍♂️ 🤕

Well, Kirk’s playbook is super complicated and you need to be with him for 7 years before you really start to see things click. Don’t ask questions, just blindly trust that the coaches know what they’re doing.

You answered your own question.

He’s probably getting as much or more NIL than Lonergan, Surace and Ashenfelder combined.

Is the amount of NIL proportional to how quick one learns the offensive playbook?
The thing is if it’s truly so hard to comprehend. Therein lies the problem. Especially in the NIL where you are renting talent for 1-2 years. You don’t have the ability to over complicate something.
But how hard can it be to audible run blocking assignments from left to right. We did this regularly in frosh football. Because you know we don’t audible out of run to pass. Each time the qb walks to the line of scrimmage it’s to move the rb and run blocking assignments. Overly predictable. Also Kirk doesn’t allow the qb to read the RPO, everything is predetermined reads from the press box, now we’re allowing the qb to read d and decipher run vs pass audible. Not credible.

That's the point. Maybe KC should run a simpler system. Adapt with the times. Don't make it complicated. Make QB substitutions something easy, and not a mountain to climb.
It’s not complicated. It’s only the excuse used why we haven’t developed or recruited well.

KC/GS are antiquated college coaches. Their complicated systems only work when you have talent (no surprise) and that talent has played together and developed for years. It's no plug and play. In the modern era that's not going to happen. Schiano said as much in his last presser. His methods are making a "menu" they can draw from for each game depending on how the other team plays. Pretty weak mindset. A confident program forces teams to bend to their will. But we have a coach who thinks he's Rockne but gets out schemed and out coached constantly.

Yea neither side of the ball has difficult schemes. D is more difficult. But the o is fairly simple.

This is a coaching problem. It shouldn't take 2 or 3 years for a QB to be ready. This isn't a complex NFL offense.
