I just think its funny everyone seemed pretty optimistic about this roster before the Mark mitchell stuff and then people got really pumped when we got him. Ever since that fizzled off its like the vibes on this team went to crap and I dont understand it. This is a good roster it really is and they should play as a team very well. After we got milan everyone was like alright let's do it we are good. The lack of mark mitchell shouldnt change that. He was a bonus
No, everyone wasn't okay with it. There were/are quite a few that see the flaws or the question marks. Just because Cowboy and Grandpa Paul and a few others bang the drum about how great it is doesn't mean they're the majority. I think, at best, the board is pretty split on the makeup of the roster. I think anyone that looks at it objectively (not easy for some) can at least acknowledge there are a ton of question marks.
Individually...Milan can shoot and score. He can't guard your grandma. Zoom and Wilkins seem like good facilitators. Can Zoom shoot enough to make teams defend him? Can he be PG1 on a GOOD team? Can Wilkins and his rail thin frame hold up at this level? Does his low/mid major game translate to the SEC? Will Moreno take a step forward? Can either of McBride or N'Diaye be good enough to be the primary 4? Are M. Williams and Morton good enough to log significant mins at either guard spot? Is Kam healthy? Has he gotten any better since he's essentially been shut down for the better part of 8 months now? Is B. Hawthorne REALLY "20-30 lbs" heavier and ready to play in the SEC? I Trent Noah the shooter going to actually start making shots?
Just a TON of question marks. Now, if about half of those return a positive answer then I think we could be on to something. I'm just not sure Pope has done much in his two years to instill confidence in turning question marks into exclamation points. Time will tell.
