I’m not sold on this team right now. I’m holding out hope that we’re better than advertised, but when I look at the rest of the SEC and then look at ourselves, it’s hard to imagine a situation where we’re in the top 4. Especially now that Mark Mitchell is back to Missouri.

Here’s hoping that all our players are better than we think and we end up making some noise in the SEC!

I can’t do it. It’s sad that I feel like I’m making the same excuses for Kentucky basketball that I have to make for the football team now. This freaking sucks.

Can you copy and paste something I've said that has made you do research on me? I'm confused. I'm trying to think what I have said that hasn't been UK related .
Just provide us with a list of your former/other screen names. Should be easy unless you are hiding something. We’ll wait.

Yeah that was my takeaway too. At first I just assumed it was football, did Texas basketball absolutely load up or something this offseason??
It looks good on paper, #1 Composite Recruiting (plus) Portal Class.
2 Five stars, Goolsby (#19 ranked) and Spears Jr. (#8 ranked) Freshmen
7 Four Stars, most notably Isiah Johnson from Colorado, David Punch from TCU, Amari Evans from Tennessee, Elyjah Freeman from Auburn, and international pro PG Laurencikas from Lithuania

They are the trendy pick to be stout currently for those wanting to pick outside of the usual and established contenders.

It sounds factual. Ascribing anything more than that to it is just your imagination creating something to whine about. Like I have told many others previously on the same topic if you think that is bad enough why continue being dishonest about it other than being overly committed to an agenda?
It also sounds like loser mentality. Sure, "one crooked call" cost us a T4 finish. But, the team was so bad only "one crooked call" was all it took to finish 7th. Loser mentality exemplified.

I get it's factual. That's why I said do you get how that sounds? We were 7th in the SEC. I give a simple opinion of the upcoming season because like you mentioned...we have the facts already.

There's no whining involved. It's funny tho because people ***** about AI but AI can have a better conversation than a real person.

It's like I did no whinning at all and you kind of are because I guess you didn't like what I said? I just as a man don't do that in real life when someone is different. Like aw there goes that cry baby because he doesnt think the same way as me. It's just not me but I also realize this is a forum and not real life so do as you please lol.
I thought is was humorous he stated "facts" about an opinion (crooked call). Irony isn't for everyone.

The fact is you misrepresented the truth in order to support your negative agenda. You should write that crooked ref a thank you letter for helping your agenda by making an obviously crooked call against Auburn which helps you frame Pope in a more negative light. Finishing tied for fourth in a 16 team league that was the best in the country is not the goal but is not the end of the world either especially when injuries and an uneven schedule weighted against us are considered.
Pope needs no help in that area. He does just fine on his own.

Yeah and A&M 11th? Florida 2nd? What are they smoking? Is this basketball because if this is football wow. Even basketball this looks terrible. No way Texas is the best team. Missouri isn’t 5th. Where is LSU and Georgia.
On paper taxes is the best team in the conference

There is no mentality expressed at all no matter how many times you insinuate it and it has been many times now. It is simply a clarification of reality.

I just think its funny everyone seemed pretty optimistic about this roster before the Mark mitchell stuff and then people got really pumped when we got him. Ever since that fizzled off its like the vibes on this team went to crap and I dont understand it. This is a good roster it really is and they should play as a team very well. After we got milan everyone was like alright let's do it we are good. The lack of mark mitchell shouldnt change that. He was a bonus

The problem is it’s a 6th-8th in the in the SEC quality roster, especially since Mark Mitchell is back at Missouri where they’ll likely be higher in the preseason standings than us.

Maybe if we were in the ACC or Big 12 it might be acceptable, but this roster isn’t good enough to compete in the SEC at the moment.

No, it's your opinion of a completely subjective event. You're attempting (pretty sadly, too) to use it to somehow better the perception of a bad team. Again, loser mentality.

Here's an example of owning up to it and holding yourself (the team) accountable. That call, whether you agree with it or not, shouldn't have been the difference in a 7th or T4th place finish. We, the team, didn't do enough over the course of the season and in that one game to make it not be the difference.

Just blows my mind you spout "facts" all of the time and then resort to this. Actually, it doesn't surprise me at all. You're just that simple.

No, everyone wasn't okay with it. There were/are quite a few that see the flaws or the question marks. Just because Cowboy and Grandpa Paul and a few others bang the drum about how great it is doesn't mean they're the majority. I think, at best, the board is pretty split on the makeup of the roster. I think anyone that looks at it objectively (not easy for some) can at least acknowledge there are a ton of question marks.

Individually...Milan can shoot and score. He can't guard your grandma. Zoom and Wilkins seem like good facilitators. Can Zoom shoot enough to make teams defend him? Can he be PG1 on a GOOD team? Can Wilkins and his rail thin frame hold up at this level? Does his low/mid major game translate to the SEC? Will Moreno take a step forward? Can either of McBride or N'Diaye be good enough to be the primary 4? Are M. Williams and Morton good enough to log significant mins at either guard spot? Is Kam healthy? Has he gotten any better since he's essentially been shut down for the better part of 8 months now? Is B. Hawthorne REALLY "20-30 lbs" heavier and ready to play in the SEC? I Trent Noah the shooter going to actually start making shots?

Just a TON of question marks. Now, if about half of those return a positive answer then I think we could be on to something. I'm just not sure Pope has done much in his two years to instill confidence in turning question marks into exclamation points. Time will tell.
