I personally think that it is amazing what GS 1 and GS 2 did with a cupboard that was completely bare, a program with no positive history whatsoever, extremely limited facilities, money, fan support, etc.

I'd love to see him carry this thing forward over the next decade. I think that he can help this team to build on its recent achievements like beating Miami, Washington, Minnesota (none ever done before), establishing dominance over old BE rivals like Boston College, Va Tech and Syracuse, and building us into a respected, .500 level team. I think he can take us higher now that we have some semblance of facilities, positive recent history and financial support (although a lot less than many of our competitors).

I'd prefer not to return to the Terry Shea and Chris Ash years and the embarrassment that was Rutgers football.

Given what GS has done versus what others have done, I'll take my chances with GS.

Rutgers had more resources than the other schools in the old watered down BE and AAC. He still never won anything.

Brian Kelly ate his lunch routinely with misfits.

Greg and RU deserves to get blasted. But man, the same few people saying the same thing on every thread is boring hahaha. At least give a new spin on it. Can't tell if its trolling or they just dont think they're being heard the first time.

What happened last night is net worse than Ash era for perception, I feel like. Ash was frog boiling in the pot. Last night was house explosion. We are back to 0, rock bottom

So where the loss to UMass fit in?

  1. "Most of those loses were to teams with more money/support"
  2. "Can't count some of those losses because he was rebuilding after failed HCs"
  3. "He hasnt lost a game as big favorite in 2.0 era"
  4. "He has won all OCC regular season games in 2.0 era"
  5. "We're not a national laughing stock anymore"

I'm still trying to read through all the excuses but I think that covers most of them?

The spin is easy….maybe RU should rethink its commitment to the corrupt, inhumane, predatory, greedy, immoral, silly side hustle that is now totally unrelated to the school. Maybe we should stick to amateur, student athletes.

Like Pikiell, because you're better than those who you followed doesn't mean you're good. I was OK with GS but the UMASS game did it for me. A loss to BC and find the money.

you need to look at his roster the first year where he made the playoffs. He did it no 4 and 5 stars and roster of JMU and lower level players. The guy is a great coach and has been successful everywhere he has been. He's a legit unicorn

no doubt NIL helped but they are not anywhere near as good, despite the NIL, with someone else. I really believe that.

He lost 1 game while at IU without Cuban's money. He's lost zero games so far with Cuban's money. Guy is a winner and has won everywhere he's ever been. I don't know why people can't admit the obvious. The guy would win at Rutgers or anywhere else.
