(17)ROSEWOOD EAGLES 2-2 @ GOLDSBORO COUGARS 0-4
Looks like the Eagles are picking up some steam rolling into Goldsboro this week to take on the Cougars. The Eagles jumped out on Hobbton Friday night, and held them off for a 38-30 victory. Meanwhile the Cougars were held scoreless for the third time this season, in their loss to C.B. Aycock 61-0. I don't expect much different from the Cougars this week. R 42 G 0
GAME OF THE WEEK
(3)MIDWAY RAIDERS 4-0 @ (17)PRINCETON BULLDOGS 2-2
The Raiders offense was held under 30 points for the first time this season last week against 6a South Johnston. And the Bulldogs hasn't scored under 34 points all season. This has the making of another shootout between these two. Last season the Raiders won 73-50, but the Bulldogs ran for over 600 yards. Both teams offenses seems to be a little bit better than last season, so this will come down to which defense can step up and make a stop. I think the Raiders defense will get a stop before the Bulldogs will. M 44 P 35

(10)WHITEVILLE WOLFPACK 4-0 @ (13)CLINTON DARK HORSES 3-1
Whiteville defense showed up last week in their shutout win over East Columbus 41-0. And the Dark Horses
offense showed up last week scoring over 50 points in their win over East Bladen 55-26. Both teams showed a complete turnaround from what we have witness this season. It's been the Dark Horses offense that have struggled, as they have scored over 20 points just one time this season, and the Wolfpack defense has been their problem allowing 36 points twice thus far. So what happens Friday night when these two meet on the field. Last season the Dark Horses
came from behind to defeat the Wolfpack 37-36. I think Whiteville starts fast again, and will hold off the Dark Horses

(16)GREENE CENTRAL RAMS
3-1 @ (8)MARTIN COUNTY GATORS 3-1
This should be a great game, I think that these two are pretty much even. The Gators have a slight edge on defense, while the Rams
has a slight edge on offense. In last season meeting the Rams
were down by a touchdown heading into the 4th quarter, then watched the Gators pull away for a 38-14 win. This game may be similar, the Rams
will need to put points up on the board when they're in the red zone, cause this Gators defense will stiffened up on them. And the Gators will need to use all of their weapons on offense, and keep the ball on the ground. I really don't know which way to go with this one, but I believe that defense wins championships. (20)SOUTH COLUMBUS STALLIONS 2-2 @ (24)PENDER PATRIOTS 2-1
The Stallions are coming into this game confident, after a overtime thriller against a talented 6a West Brunswick team 22-21. A game where the Stallions started off hot leading 14-0 at the half. The Patriots are coming off of their first loss of the season, where they couldn't find a rhythm on offense, and couldn't stop the run on defense against Wallace Rose Hill 28-6 last week. Last season in this match up, the Patriots ran for over 500 yards, on their way to a 62-29 victory. I don't expect much different this time around. The Patriots may be without a key player, but I believe that they'll still have a player step up and lead them to the win. SC 20 P 49
(7)EAST DUPLIN PANTHERS 4-0 @ (8)JACKSONVILLE CARDINALS 2-1
The Panthers are riding high right now after their 21-14 victory over my Tigers
last week. The Cardinals took care of a much improved 7a Topsail team 47-20. The Cardinals seems to be a shell of a Cardinals team we are used to this season. And the Panthers are getting better as the season progresses. Yards will be hard to come by in this game, especially on the ground. Last season the Cardinals jumped out fast on the Panthers and held on for a 35-24 win. If the Cardinals struggle to get going in the first half, then they'd be in for a long night. Cause the Panthers make great adjustments in the second half. I believe that the Cardinals are bigger, stronger, and faster, but that didn't help my Tigers, nor Wallace Rose Hill against these Panthers. These guys are a hard group to rattle, they don't make many mistakes, and they won't let you make them get away from doing what they do best. And that's running the football! I think that the Cardinals will be ready for the Panthers ground attack, and will get the win. ED 7 J 21

With another great week of action in the SVC, we're getting closer to half of the season in the books. Rosewood is starting to look like they want to compete against anyone. Princeton defense peeked their heads in the door. Midway offense looked human for a week. Wallace offense matched it's defense for the first time. Goldsboro went back to not scoring. And my Tigers
failed their Panthers test. We'll learn from it and be ready for conference play next week. Good luck to all of the SVC teams in action this week. LET'S GOOOO TIGERS
