From what I read Burns was missing their staring MLB, down to their 3rd string qb, and lost a starter in the fight as well. They whipped us as bad as we’ve been whipped in the second half. And that’s a metaphor, they didn’t literally whip us. But it felt like it. But to use rape is weird. I don’t know what fans ran their mouth after getting whipped but it wasn’t me. Our defense did suck on Friday but it’s game 4 and there’s time to improve. Hopefully we will.
They won so they don’t have to make excuses. I remember last year when we beat them they had one poster that wouldn’t give us credit. Said Burns lost the game, we didn’t win it. Who cares. Let’s all move on. Many more weeks of football to go. I hope Burns wins the 4A title. Would be great for their community. And by the way, they were better off without a passing QB. It worked to their advantage to abandon the pass.

I didnt get to come for that playoff game, I went to see my mother at the nursing facility in Rutherfordton and didnt make it back home until around the time of kickoff... I agree that the exit is problematic, and funnels both teams toward one another. That has seldom been a problem for many years. Forever, both fanbases and teams went out the same gate they came in...Not sure how your additional info to the helmet story helps your case, tho. The injured child was innocent, non-culpable, a mere bystander. He saw plenty of classlessness masquerading as hardness.
I took multiple cursings from fans and one "coach" after our playoff loss, because I was not allowing them to walk thru the Lincolnton families waiting at the fieldhouse. I was routing them out the new gate, and around the corner of the fieldhouse where your buses were parked. That is our county's answer to the problem.
Remember your fans trying to climb the 8 foot fence to get to our players? Remember the players filing past with that big speaker on wheels, stopping to laugh and taunt our folk? And the group of Lion coaches strolling along watching and smiling?
I was there 160...I know I'm soft, but I cant figure out how shared bad behavior is a Lincolnton problem. We spoke before the game, and you were much more pleasant before, than after your win. I think you are pretty decent dude, in real life. But like you say, I can't prove it.
BBD...I hope you get over your historic win. You are a hard guy. If you could see the world thru "sawfter" lenses, maybe you could see there's more than one perspective, and a lot of people, players, coaches and real-time posters could learn some class or decorum...but then, they'd need midol for their softness.

There are some things that could be done, but we aren't high on the priority list. You saw the parking lot, lol. Funny you mention this, AMD. We have been informed that due to our failing visitors locker room, that the County is planning to build the Visitors a new, modern locker room. It will be beside of the disputed visitors exit, btw...about 40 feet from the palatial home locker room, circa 1965.I don't have a dog or cat in this fight

Yessir, I remember now. Its tight, but some grading and pavement could solve it. Theres not that much pavement in the other lot, tbh.
Truth. Spent a couple of playoff seasons recently in your stands. Spent one recently on the visitors hill at Burns. Always treated well. Always wearing L-town gear. We had more free-time during playoffs than the past couple of years, lol.
I heard the words "Straight to the bus" 100 times in 5 min after the game Fri. Burns stayed in the opposite end zone for 30 min to let the crowd clear before even attempting to go to the bus. Fans and family were on the fence line trying to see their kids but they had to walk single file straight to the buses. It was a mess and hopefully will be fixed.
Tried to go see my kid on field after a West Charlotte game. Cmpd officer told me we weren't allowed on field. I said man we dont want to cause trouble we just want to hug our kid. It was the seniors last ball game. Once West Charlotte was in locker room he let us go out there and it was a non issue.
They got a white fence where you have to walk and the players were not allowed anywhere near it. No chance any of us could go on the field unless we wanted Lincolntons finest on us. They went from one end to the other telling fans to exit like a herd.
Is it like that for every game there or are you thinking it was because you won the game? I haven’t been to Lincolnton in a while other than basketball, but we play there in about a month. Lincolnton fans have always been very respectful for basketball. The last time I was in Lincolnton for a football game, I didn’t even get comfortable leaning up against the fence and Goo Wyatt had already busted 2 td’s against my beloved SP back in the day.
I have no clue. We have only played them twice in recent years and this was the first one at their house. We do not have the same issues they do. At Burns the visitors have an entirely different entrance and park on the soccer practice field outside the softball field. The visiting team has their own parking lot down that way as well. They use our old field house as their locker room and we use our newer field house. Everything is always separate so that is an issue we never have to worry about.
I don’t think it was because they won the game, but maybe because of the scuffle that happened mid-game and the intensity of the game. We never had issues until what happened after the first Shelby game last year. That got the county involved and sparked changes. I’m all for safety for everyone involved. No one should go to a high school sports event and have to worry about safety, or even verbal abuse, but obviously times have changed. I hate seeing teams not shake hands after games. But it seems necessary several games a year these days.
It has been years since I have been to Burns for a football game but I am assuming it is very similar to Crest since the schools are so much alike. Me, my son, and another player did walk out and look at the field when you guys eliminated us in baseball last year. Wanted the boys to get a little peak about what it will be about on October 2nd.
