Why didn't we try kicking a couple field goals?

I will answer the question though. Had we kicked FG's instead of going for it on 4th, we would have had nine points in instead of seven. That is assuming all the FG's are good.

Not why we lost.

How can you say it’s not a reason why we lost it’s not the only reason, but it’s surely on the list? 9 > 7. And don’t forget about the decision to go for it from our own 30 on the first drive. That gifted a minimum of 3 points to BC too. Horrible decisions.

Basketball can’t kick off fast enough and while I’d sign up without hesitation for a zero win basketball season if it could guarantee Pike’s health - this will infuse instant energy into a deflated program / fan base for the upcoming season which from a basketball standpoint should be a refreshing change for us - win or lose. Where there might otherwise be broad apathy going into this season from our fan base - I expect the opposite. I believe our fan base is going to rise in support and the season will be exciting and enjoyable to follow regardless of how much progress we ultimately make.

Greg has a new plan- just as his "no returns" has worked out so well- he plans to go with "no FG's" this year as well.

The thing he needs to throw the F out the door- the damn tush push. He is so in love with it and it just has not been working. When you have Raymond and Duff - I don't care if it is 1/2 yard or 20 yards- one of them needs the ball

I was thinking about this. We know Patel was a decent kicker at least. Maybe not as great as his streak indicated but certainly competent to make some field goals so this guy beat him out he must be pretty good right? Here we are two games into a disastrous season and we haven't even attempted one field goal
