Since 2015, Iowa has kicked 10 game-winning field goals in the final 30 seconds of the fourth quarter (including Caden Buhr's recent 42-yard kick with 15 seconds remaining to beat Iowa State 16-13 on September 12, 2026). [1, 2]
According to official Iowa Hawkeyes Athletics records updated prior to the 2026 season, the Hawkeyes had logged 9 such winning kicks since 2015—giving them the most of any FBS team over that span—and Buhr's recent clutch performance adds the 10th.
