Anyone that can’t beat #12 Alabama in in 2nd week of being a head coach just doesn’t have it.

That's Kentucky football though. I was actually much more surprised by the first half. The second half did. I didn’t expect a win, but with how mega-hyped everyone was all week for this game, I did expect that we’d go down fighting with max effort all game.
But instead it looked like we just rolled over and quit competing after halftime.
NO IT DIDN'T. An oline that couldn't block the edges, a QB that didn't make accurate throws ,recievers that couldn't get open is what killed us Steins fake punt was based on his judgement that our defense was gassed and our only chance of winning was to keep possession of the football. You guys have watched too much Stoops ball.
The issue wasn’t so much the fake punt itself but having your backup blocking TE try to run the ball for a first down didn’t make any sense. That was Joker-esque dumb.NO IT DIDN'T. Yeah, I’m not as critical of the fake punt as others. With the way momentum had completely shifted, I think he correctly concluded that things were about to cave in on us if we didn’t retain possession there …and we only needed like one friggin yard.NO IT DIDN'T. We paid more for this offensive line than Bama did for their defensive line and Kentucky's line got dominated.Stein obviously runs a workable exciting offense WHEN HE HAS THE PERSONEL. This year he doesn't have them. PoorQB play , abysmal recievers and ssllloooowwwww offensive line ruined a winning effort on defense. Our offensive tackles are dreadfully slow. I watched them get beat repeatedly by Bamas quicker more athletic edge rushers. I think the jury is still out on Minchey, he played very poorly but it was his first start in a truly big time football game. He might improve. Our recievers are another issue entirely. My Grey haired granny could cover them. It's gonna be a long season.
I think you are correct....Alinen appears to ahve better feet and Knox appears to be good enough inside to hold up. Wood.....he simply has been a bust in limited time the past 2 years.....and his first game in his 4th year ddint look good.I don’t agree. Teams rarely rotate OL. And our DL is the deepest room on the team. We got outcoached in the 2H. Leaving Malachi Wood in there after he repeatedly got burned today drove me nuts. They need to go back to the OL they had last week and move Alinen to RT and Knox at LG.
You just make yourself look stupid saying things like this. By your estimation how many teams in D1 football qualify as good?Alabama is not a good football team
Not a bit. I’m more pissed at myself for letting the idiots on KSR talk me into believing we actually had a chance. I won’t make that mistake again. I’d have been okay with anything except a blowout. There’s no excuse for that.Does this result actually surprise anyone?

Yeah the fans were outstanding. Hope Stein and the team enjoyed the atmosphere because I’ll be shocked if they get that again this after how they played. The only way they’ll get another crowd like today is if they upset someone. They’ll have to actually prove themselves now because relying on hope and hype ain’t gonna work after today.Lot of people pumped Stein. This is an embarrassing effort today, from all involved on the UK side, except the fans. Which is pretty much always the case with UK sports anymore. Both major UK sports are an utter joke at the moment. Sorry but it’s time to call a spade a spade. We have zero run game. How do you expect to pass the ball with zero run game? People saying Minchy didn’t show up… what about CJ Baxter? Supposed to be one of the best O lines in the country blocking for him. At the end of the day this team is hype and nothing else. No substance. Bama is very average and DeBoer isn’t going to last there. If we can’t beat them at home with all the buildup, we’re gonna be lucky to win 4 games this year. It is what it is… UK football. The ****** part is that we don’t have basketball to look forward to anymore.
You are an idiot!!!All Brainfart had to do was fire Stoops 2 weeks earlier, when he should have, and we’d have Sumrall right now. Just 1 of 40,000 crippling decisions by Mitch that’s resulted in both programs being in the toilet 5+ years running.
What have you seen that says they aren’t?Why is alabama good at football this year?
Why are they good? This is a fun gameWhat have you seen that says they aren’t?
It surprised some of our gullible season ticket holders. I know a few.Does this result actually surprise anyone?
What has sumrall done that stein hasn’t? If we change schedules we are 2-0 and they are 1-1All Brainfart had to do was fire Stoops 2 weeks earlier, when he should have, and we’d have Sumrall right now. They one their first 2 games by a combined score of 93-27. That doesnt say bad team . Now what do you see that says bad team? Why are they good? This is a fun game
They one them? Good stuff. Bama fans don't want their current coach and it's only a matter of time before they make a change. They one their first 2 games by a combined score of 93-27. That doesnt say bad team . Now what do you see that says bad team?
You must not talk to many bama fans or see what his contract isThey one them? Good stuff. Bama fans don't want their current coach and it's only a matter of time before they make a change.
I’m not basing my opinion on what Sumrall has done the first two weeks. I always wanted him. He was the perfect hire for UK IMO. Played and coached here. Went on to have major success as a head coach himself. I just think he was more of a sure thing to win here than anyone else we realistically could have gotten. What has sumrall done that stein hasn’t? If we change schedules we are 2-0 and they are 1-1
Okay, tell me what I'm missingYou must not talk to many bama fans or see what his contract is
Let’s see what he does against elite teams first. No guarantee he would’ve even took the job anyways. He is a stoops guy and might not wanted to follow him.I’m not basing my opinion on what Sumrall has done the first two weeks. I always wanted him. He was the perfect hire for UK IMO. An almost 70 million dollar buyout says he isn’t leaving anytime soon. Also with a stacked roster now and more talent he’s got coming. He’s got an elite defense to buy time for the offense. Grubb is the problem imo with them. He’s not a good OC by any means.Okay, tell me what I'm missing
We coming after his *** soon!!Fire Pope!

No. Grew up in a bama household. Most my family are bama fans. I’m the only Kentucky one. But Deboer isn’t going anywhere anytime soon at least. If Russell gets comfortable and going they will be extremely tough to beat. That second half he settled in.Very good info, fan of Alabama
Wood's struggles today killed the offense. We couldnt drop back at all. Not sure why a change wasn't made , but youre rightI don’t agree. Teams rarely rotate OL. 2 levels of competition. There is a reason Alinen came to Kentucky and isn’t still at bama. Also the rb missed several pickups on the right side on overload blitzes. It’s not always on the oline on a sack. It’s qb calling proper protection, it’s rb pickup or it could be route concepts to get rid of ball quicker on 5-6 man pressures. Also when the defense knows its pass and the qb isn’t a running threat it’s easy for them. Just push up field hard and fast as you can.Wood's struggles today killed the offense. We couldnt drop back at all. Not sure why a change wasn't made , but youre right
No body was going to beat Bama passing, but I thought they could run on the tide.kentucky is allergic to passing offense like no other team in the country until proven otherwise. it's like us and Iowa.
Once Baxter got hurt we seemed to abandon it. Patterson needs more carries and anyone besides Barnes. He looks awful. No body was going to beat Bama passing, but I thought they could run on the tide.
We had 59 yards in the second half and were 1-14 on third down. We simply must be better than that against SEC teams. We won the first half, they won the second half. Game was a lot closer than the score indicated.
today they played the Little House on the Prairie Fighting Camels, who did they thump in week 1? Please stop talking about Florida being good when they have only played two cupcakes...They one their first 2 games by a combined score of 93-27. That doesnt say bad team . Now what do you see that says bad team?
It is early in the year so we will see how it plays out in the end but if you are ranked #12 nationally that is a very strong sign you are at least good. Why is alabama good at football this year?
