This is silly. Stoops accomplished more than any coach we had at the school in half a century, yet the malcontents always blame him at every stop. Was Stoops perfect? No. But tell who did more than him at Kentucky in the last fifty years. Always have and always will defend Stoops.

But now — it’s Stein’s turn to keep the ball rolling. And this was not a good second half, but we looked every bit of a good team in the first half and let’s hope we are more of that going forward and less of whatever the 2nd half was.

Stoops deserves his flowers. Stein needs to be allowed the runway to grow. I called this weeks ago — the unrealistic fan expectations would cripple this program if not dealt with. We weren’t supposed to win this game. This is a brand new team against a top fifteen team.
Dude get a life. I shouldn’t even respond to your ignorance. Yeah Stoops was so great that’s why Mitch FINALLY fired him. All Stoops had to do was win 5 games and Barnhart would’ve kept him. Even the AD couldn’t protect him anymore.

It just sucks that this half will take away all of the excitement we had going into the season and the first half today. Worst case scenario in that regard.

Try not to overreact though, plenty of season left to make improvements. I still have high expectations for Stein here. It will take time though.

I agree. If Stein has a great recruiting class and keeps chipping away, he may only lose to us by 4 TDs a couple of years from now.

The Tide always comes in!

We didn’t play great in the first half at all. We were handed the second TD off of a really bad call. Alabama played so bad in the first half it appeared to me they were shaving points.

I mean we still played a pretty great half even despite that, especially the defense. You dont go up at the half on a tean like 'Bama because of a fluke

Well it was a bit of a fluke lol. Like I said we shouldn’t have had that second TD therefore wouldn’t have been up at halftime. As bad as Alabama was in the first half we should’ve been up by at least 2 1/2 - 3 TD’s. They couldn’t even snap the ball.

But oh well, in the end that didn’t affect the game at all.

Good job sidestepping the question:

Who is your frame of reference at UK within the last 50 years to say Stoops was bad?

I did not expect a win today.
I will stay with my 4-8 prediction from weeks ago.
Our schedule is too tough to expect more than 4 wins, but 5 is doable ... if we learn from this game and improve.

After seeing the way the SEC treated Mitchell snd just how SEC trolls act.. it will be so enjoyable to watch the Big10 beat the breaks off of whoever comes out of this conference.

DeBoer was coaching for his career today lol. This is as good as it will get for Alabama from here on out.

I love how you exclude Bear Bryant lol. Rich Brooks was a much better coach than Stoops too. I’m not old enough to remember anybody before Brooks.

Stoops is the worse!

So you aren’t old enough to remember anyone before Brooks and want to bring up a guy who coached here in the 1950s?

That makes perfect sense if you don’t think about it.

At the very least the first half showed potential. It sucks to be so hyped after one half, just to get blown out when you feel like we have a chance. Just gotta shrug your shoulders and move along, hopefully Stein can recruit and develop players to get us in a better place in the future.

My bad for referencing one of the two greatest football coaches of all time. You’d probably take Stoops over Saban

I will be honest…the way UL played Ole Miss…I thought the Bama would be close. This is going to be a long season…¯\_(ツ)_/¯

As an old guy, UK has made a living playing SEC teams close for one half. This is not a new story.

One poster said that the fake punt was the worst call in UK history. You must be young, very young.

That call wouldn't make top 10 of the Stoops era, much less UK football history.

That's a logical fallacy. Stoops is objectively bad. Demanding irrational evidence (moving the goalposts) of another UK coach who is worse doesn't absolve him of responsibility for having a lifetime losing SEC record (and mediocre record overall).

You need to look up the definition of moving the goalposts.

I made the statement that Stoops is the best we’ve had here in 50 years. That was the proposition, not that Stoops is great compared to Saban, Meyer or Smart.

Idc though man. Think whatever y’all want to think. Talking football with Kentucky fans is mostly a waste of time. There are some old heads like me that have watched through the good, bad and ugly and didn’t just start watching ten years ago and think we should be Bama at the flip of a hat. Just leave me be I guess and y’all can have the doomsday circle.

I’m good.

It is tough to see us pay big $$$ in BB snd FB and get disappointing results. That is the biggest concern and the hardest pill to swallow.
It makes sense in football because Stein is facing established coaches with larger NIL budgets than we have. Basketball? There’s no excuse. As frustrating as this loss was, I’ll be far more furious if we end up losing to the likes of Kansas and/or Louisville in basketball.

Being a UK fan absolutely sucks all the way around the last 5-10 years. I’m 38 and my love/desire for UK is at an alltime low.
Dude, you're just getting started LOL.... Just messing with you. I turned 61 yesterday, and the UK FB dropped a real turd to close out the game. After a while you just get numb to it.
