I'm not too proud to admit I was wrong. I thought RU would win by 10 against the 2nd easiest FBS opponent on the schedule. BC's run defense was flat out awful, but clearly better than RU's run offense (which I grossly miscalculated). RU will go 1-11 if they can beat Howard.
1st Possession defined the loss. 3rd and 1 after 2 successful runs and the BC defensive front completely stones RU OL. BC got the push and Raymond was fortunate to eek out a gain of a couple of inches which should have been a 1 yard loss. Then we got stupid. Go for it on our own 34, which I don't necessarily have an issue with and traditionally Schiano punts. BUT go heavy and try to jam the middle? Have any of the coaches actually WATCHED this team? Of course BC owned the LOS and stuffed us for a loss. RU should have spread them out with a 4 WR set. Create some natural gaps along their front instead of facing a solid mass of humanity. Whoever made this play choice needs to be completely removed from the offensive play calling because it was downright stupid.
I think we're going to be 35 point underdogs vs USC. 17 point favorites against Howard. 32 point underdogs at Indiana. 10 point underdogs at Maryland followed by 17 point underdogs at Northwestern. At least RU doesn't play Ohio State or Oregon where they'd lose by at least 6 TDS.
