What's lame about the truth? Any idiot can look at the 2 schools schedule and resulting record and see UL greatly benefited from playing a weak schedule in very weak conferences. IDK how you can even argue otherwise.

I think Louisville is a good football team. The other night vs. Ole Miss started off slow, but it ended up being a great game. It was a close one, but you still lost, which should give you a taste of how we feel. What do you mean by "schedule smack"? I don't understand what that means. All I meant was that we're part of the same state, but we're in different regional (or at least they used to be) conferences, and the SEC is objectively much stronger than the ACC and always has been. You all were in CUSA and The Big East before the ACC on top of that. I feel like we've had good teams in the past that we didn't get any credit for because we had to face top 10 teams practically every game.... So, it's an interesting hypothetical to consider. Although, obviously, we are the state school, so the onus is on us at the end of the day. I just feel no affinity towards the SEC whatsoever and never understood Kentucky fans who worship it like some monolith. My post wasn't meant to discredit Louisville. It would obviously be hypocritical to imply Louisville isn't good just because they don't have to play LSU, Texas, Alabama, Georgia, and Texas A&M, every week.
People harp on the modern NIL era, but in retrospect, it's kind of silly how imbalanced football used to be. In any other sport or competition it would have been seen as a negative, unfair "meta," I think....

I'm starting to believe every year these teams get more even. Other than like the four or five power houses it seems college football is a toss up.

This is another example of why adding a ninth conference game is sheer idiocy imo.
Ole Miss won’t be anywhere near #9 by the end of the season, probably not in the top 25 at all.

By your reasoning we wouldnt drop to most of the SEC teams we play every year but most of the time we do. Quit pretending like this isn't subjective nonsense that isn't applied arbitrarily.

The SEC has at least 3 teams that will be knocking on the door of a championship. They have 6 or 7 teams capable of a playoff spot. It is a different landscape now but the SEC football royalty will do whatever it takes to win and eventually they will be on top again. After Alabama fires DeBoer they will be a different animal again.
The ACC is the kind of league UK needs to get in if they ever want a chance to win.
You act like every game in the SEC is an NFL East game. Louisville hit just as hard as anybody in the SEC. Just look at the Ole Miss injury report.
If they lost on a last second FG they wouldn't fall. If they got beat by 40 they probably would. All loses aren't the same.
While you are here, I think most of us would like to see your picks for UL if the Cardinals were to play UK's 2026 schedule.

It hasn’t been a good conference for football OR basketball over the past few years. Schools are suing for an exit. It’s a little brother conference.

Yes, because we are still a tier or two above the ACC.
In 2018, UK came out of the best conference in college football with a 10-3 record. UL has never accomplished anything like that. It’s better to be in the be in the best conference fighting to win games of significance than to be in the worst conference puffing your chest when you beat one of the 2 ranked teams on your schedule. One is gold and the other fools gold.
The ACC is pure garbage and the SEC is legit like always. Seems better than last year overall.
Schedules mean nothing when you play head to head. Kentucky has always had the tougher schedule in my lifetime, but Louisville has the overall better record heading into to head.
Walking through a bunch of patsies is easier than trudging through the grind of the SEC. That benefits UL for an end of the season matchup on at least 2 fronts. First, the beat down of playing real opponents. Second, as seen last season, when there is nothing to play for at season’s end, it makes UL’s job easier.
