Week 4!!!! Conference Play in the CPL!!! Time to find out what you're made of! I was planning on doing a whole pick 'em with matchups of undefeated CPL teams, but when you play in the CPL, you know you are getting tough matchups right out of the gate. Only 2 undefeated matchups... plus the best way to spend a beautiful Saturday in the city!!! On to the picks!!

Von Steuben vs Schurz
While the rest of the city works....CPL gets the early Friday Game fired up! Von Steuben vs Schurz at Lane. Look, I think it's pretty well established that Lane is an awful place to watch a football game, but when was the last time either Von or Schurz started the season 3-0? Not sure Von has ever done it. Schurz? Had to be at least 25 years. Point is, if you find yourself stuck in traffic on Addison around 4:30, it might be worth a watch....If security shows up to let the teams in on time....If you can find a working bathroom....If the concession stand opens by the 4th quarter.... Give me Strange liquids dripping from the ceiling!!

I had a boss who used to like to always talk about how important it was to see things from the other person's perspective. Couldn't stand that guy, but I do have a joke about perspective:
Two people ask a spiritual master if they can smoke while meditating.
The first one is told a strict "No."
The second one comes out smiling and lights up.
"What did you ask?" the first one demands.
The second replies, "I asked if I could meditate while smoking."

The forecast for Saturday is gorgeous. No better way to spend a beautiful day in the city than at Historic Eckersall Stadium on 83rd for a double header of Big Boy CPL Football!

You know I'm hitting up Carl's Red Hots 83rd and S South Chicago for my standard order of 2 Chili Cheese Polish and a Pizza Puff. Normally I park in the end zone on S Essex and catch a game. If I'm eating that before the 12:15 game, probably have to go in and sit in the stands....I'll have the Eckersall bathroom report next week! After the game the Celebrity Lounge across from Carl's will just be heating up! All day fun on the South Side BABY!!!!! CPL! CPL!!!
