Class A: Millard South (2-0) @ Bellevue West (0-2)
- This one, although almost assuredly a MS win, has grabbed my attention. I think it will tell us a little more about Class A, specifically, Millard South. BW is 0-2, sure, however, they've played only top opponents so far. I think if they can make this a close game and/or find a way to get an upset it tells us one thing... Westside and/or Millard North maybe can pry the trophy out of MS's hands in November.
Millard South: 35 - Bellevue West: 17
Class B: Gretna (2-0) @ Gretna East (2-0)
- Are either of these two teams going to win it all? My vote is no, I think Waverly does that again; however, these 2 are the next 2 in my opinion. A new rivalry over the last couple of years. Great football in G town.
Gretna East: 24 - Gretna: 21
Class C1: Auburn (2-0) @ Ft. Calhoun (1-1)
- Not a whole lot of top tier games in week 3 in this class. But, Ft. Calhoun just gave Pierce, who I think has a chance to win it all, a tough week 2 game. Auburn is on the outside looking in when it comes to the elite level of C1 - but... A win Friday could have them looking the part.
Ft. Calhoun: 37 - Auburn: 20
Class C2: Malcom (1-1) @ Fremont Bergan (2-0)
- Malcolm with that tough 14-15 bout against Yutan (they're good) and Bergan, unbeaten. What gives this week? I think Bergan is priming for a deep run, this game will solidify my observations. Going to be a good game, close, could go either way.
Fremont Bergan: 24 - Malcom: 21
Class D1: Exeter-Miligan-Friend (2-0) @ Johnson-Brock (2-0)
- EMF is big and physical, they seem to repeat this every couple of years with a big, talented, hard-nosed football team. Johnson-Brock, well, they just upended Sandy.. At Sandy (maybe worse case for rest of D1, we've seen an early Sandy loss before). Going to be tough for them to shake the hangover and perform again. But, they just may do that exact thing.
Johnson-Brock: 30 - EMF: 22
D2: Neligh-Oakdale (2-0) @ Shelby-Rising-City (2-0)
- This one has all the makings for a great one. SRC trying to prove they haven't gone anywhere. N-O? Well they just like to score enough points that you don't have a chance (124 through 2 weeks) the impressive part? Only 24 allowed.. They're not exactly soft on that side of the ball.
Shelby-Rising-City: 38 - Neligh-Oakdale: 36
D3: Huskerland Bob, and everyone else for that matter, tried to tell us that D3 was the deepest class this year - I'm thinking that is becoming evident. 3 major games this week. All 3 tell us about past wins OR losses that have already occurred. The cream is rising to the top..
Central Valley: 36 - St. Mary's: 18
Twin Loup: 44 - Anselmo-Merna: 28
Archangels: 30 - Wausa 24
