Their appeal notes correctly that proper protocol was not followed in allowing an extra second to be placed on the clock. The approved process requires the program-feed clock to be used. The Big 10 used some other secret clock that nobody knows about.

It won't work, but at least makes it interesting. Their argument, of course, would be that anything that happened after the program-feed clock hit zeros was not actually part of the game, so it shouldn't count. That includes any referee decisions.

The pollsters weren't fooled anyway as Michigan was dropped from the top 25.

But, but, but. How can this be happening.
Didn't the B1G strong arm/force their will over the MAC not to say anything publicly.

Glad someone is trying. What we will get is another lame excuse because ultimately nothing will come of it. Just another reason for BIG and NCAA to lose any credibility that remains with whoever is dumb enough to still believe in them.

The call on the field is that the super secret official time clock ran out 5 minutes ago after (fill in the blank) scored to take the lead. Therefore (sorry sap of mid major) is not rewarded with the game winning field goal and the game is over. Or was over. Now is over based on all clocks.

They don't need to change the outcome. Let Michigan take the win and embarrassment that comes with it. Michigan will probably never play Western Michigan again because the night they cheated will come up every time. Michigan's reputation is so shot they may as well give Sherrone Moore the head coaching job back.

I mostly think about the players from WMU who legitimately won the game but had it stolen from them

Yes, from Michigan's perspective, it's embarrassing either way. They either lost or needed historic help from the refs to gift them the win.
