What do you expect from the (rebuilt) Cy(Clowns) this Saturday?

The Clowns tried to throw a pass of 15 or more yards every other play for a majority of the first half (I didn't watch the 2nd half). Likely to put on a show for the fans. But it seems that their run game isn't great, only putting up 108 yards at 3.5 YPC against a very bad team, so they will likely stick to the air as Iowa's defense is simply too good for their running game.

The key will be to put a lot of pressure on their QB to make mistakes and force turnovers.

Their defensive line looked very good. Their defense is a lot different from Campbell's but looks to be very solid again. I think their offense is going to be mediocre to bad. If Iowa can get 20 points I like their chances but 20 has seemed like 40 in this series. I think it'll be another close low scoring game.

Kirk has lost to some horrendous Iowa State teams in the past. If he does it again I won't be one bit surprised

they will play out of their mind and lose 24-22
I don’t see how the Clowns score 22 unless the Hawks hand them a couple big turnovers like a pick6 and/or scoop&score.

Absent that, Hawkeye defense will limit ISU to 10 points or less. Phil Parker will have the D ready to play.

Hawks are scoring more points under Lester. Iowa covers.

Their best defensive player is probably Isaac Terrell, who transferred from Washington St. He was the Pac-12 Defensive Lineman of the Year in 2025 and had 3 sacks last week. It will be interesting to see how he does against Iowa's offensive line.

i saw it mentioned on yt that the isu coach said something in a public setting disparaging iowa and that provides iowa with bulletin board material. what did he actually say that was incendiary?

I expect them to be very aggressive defensively. They will likely come up with some TFL’s and sacks because of this. They’ll also be ripe for the picking for giving up big plays. We need to make them pay when it’s there.

Their running QB will be their main feature and then they will try to throw some deep passes.

I have a bad feeling about this game.

The Hawks better win. I am tired of losing to those chumps.
I am often a little nervous, but this year I feel pretty darn good- like Iowa is going to whip the clowns and it won't be close. Biggest worry is what to buy for a day of football and making room in the fridge for it.

He threw 50% against a bad team last week

Never fear guys.

The mid zone run and the ability to get Receivers open and a legitimate deep threat= Hawks win.
My thoughts as well....behind the scenes, Hawks are really locked in and tired of the past few years against these guys based on lack of presser comments. Lester has taken it personally for the woes and lack of adjustment and remember last year Moulton was a no go and Addy hurt very early plus Bad Grono still. Night game, Kinnick, an ISU team that hasn't seen a line or environment like this equals a 10-14 point Iowa win.

They simply won't sustain DL pressure and be good enough to dink and dunk us....we take away the running game and the deep ball and will be just fine.

I just checked, according to 24/7, they lost 55 players to the portal from last years team and brought in 48. None of the 48 players were rated higher than a 3 star. Who are their players to watch or take note of?

I've heard similar things from the media members, this week, the players just seemed different. Like they didn't want to give anything away or provide any fuel for the Clowns. It gives me hope that we'll decimate them. I sincerely hope Kirk has instilled in the team just how sick we all are to losing to these nobodies.

IMO the Clowns will look to score fast to start the game. They want to put immediate pressure on to our offense. Look for the deep ball early and often for this one.

He might be a good player, but it didn't take much to win that Pac-12 award last year. The conference only had two teams.

The qb can move and create, could cause issues for the hawks. I expect Iowa to ground and pound and control clock as the game goes on. A boring Iowa like win as KF welcomes fresh meat into his house.

Hopefully some long developing plays will allow Eppy, Merri, and Brown to get home.....

“We can’t wait to get to work, but let’s cheer on Coach (TJ Otzelberger) and let’s beat the f**king Hawks, let’s go”

that’s it? honestly that material in itself is not going to fire up anybody for tomorrow. guess we are going to have rely on ordinary playmaking, technique, and creativity to win
Personally, I could care less about what he said. Doesn't bother me at all. Just go out there and take care of our business.
