Lived in Mississippi the first 28 years of my life and this is the first I’ve ever heard of Ward’s
It’s very specifically a South and Central MS chain. I think there may be one in Carthage but none north of there. And there aren’t any in the Jackson metro, unless you count Pelahatchie as part of the Jackson metro. But dear gosh every town you can think of between Jackson and the coast has one.

My dream is to open a very causal, laid back parent's bar in the District. I'm never going to do it, but either Blutos or Uno Mas would be a great location.
Man, MS needs an upscale wine bar so bad. It’s just so niche, it’s tough to pull off esp in a college town. We went to a nice wine bar on Los Olas last weekend after dinner and man, that is a good time.

My idea is very small wine bar in district but it has to be cheap enough to have college kids but expensive enough to keep idiots out. Small plates & charcuterie. Lean in to women clientele. You make a place girls want to hang out and men follow.

A new one has opened in Elbert Al, north of Orange Beach, called Oakley’s. Food is great. I’m not a wine aficionado like the Mrs but they have a pretty good beer selection too. If you’re ever down at the Bama Beaches and want to get away from the crowds, give it a try. The tourists haven’t found it yet.

I'm not sure Starkville can support 2 wine bars, been there a couple years now:

The Mexican Kitchen is in Columbus. Unless there is two of them.

Must be two then. Ate there for many years. South of Hattiesburg on 49 until it moved north. Haven't been in a very long time though. At least 10 years or more.

foot long chili cheese dog with extra onions is a sure fire colon cleanse! A guy I used to work with and occasionally rode in the same car used to every time we passed Ward’s he requested to stop and always ordered a foot long chili cheese dog with extra onions. The gas he passed after eating that would choke a skunk.

If the food doesn't sux, it all comes down to location, location, location. Determine your core customer base and make sure it can sustain you 365 days a year. Did I mention location?? Also, good luck finding a full time kitchen staff that you can count on. If you have never own a restaurant before, be prepared to work your azz off.
