Well, there was many of us predicting this game would be close, and some even predicted Ohio would win.

That said, it doesn’t matter. I predicted 4-8 for the season, and so far, this game has proven me correct.

They may even go 3-9.

It’s already in full effect. That said they’re a good program and have been for some time now. Still, it’s no excuse to have all this supposed talent and struggle with a MAC team.

I have faith in our new D coordinator. He studies his opponents, he is also known for in game adjustments. Now the play calling on offense is what worries me. No reason for some of the plays called by DH….
Rhule hired him so why would anyone have faith whatsoever in a coordinator under Rhule haha

A team with no NIL money
Lost 17 of 22 starters
New head coach
Started a QB grad student with 1 career start
All the cards in our favor
Thank God for an incredibly hot day

yep Ohio is well coached
We are not

This was Ohio’s super bowl I’m sure they were preparing for Nebraska since winter conditioning

how will you recover?
Let’s circle up again at seasons end
Ohio lost 17 starters and their head cosch
No NIL money
Started a grad school QB with 19 career passing yards
This team could easily lose to North Dakota and be a 5 win team
It’s an Illinois State moment
We were told back then it didnt matter
They were wrong

If our WRs simply did that we might've gotten to 60 today.

Exactly! We are definitely not WR University as far as catching the ball. Our guys just don’t catch well and never go up for the ball. We haven’t had good hands guys since Jordan Westerkamp and Kenny Bell. If they get their hands on it sometimes they will catch it. Not like other teams. They are good blockers though. Those that pile on our receivers coach, I am 100% on board with them.

AC has an uphill battle. Better to throw to RBs and Tight Ends. Much better hands there.

EDIT: Forgot Trey Palmer. That dude was money!

You're an idiot. I can only imagine how pleasant you are at Husker watch parties, that's if anyone still invites you over 😅

Middle/end of season when we know how their record actually is.

But even if they are legit, it shouldn't matter, they're in a non-Power conference.
Yep, same as the one that had to be given an extra second against "mighty" mishigan

Ask @dinglefritz sounds like something he would say
I told my neighbors in the stands that if they didn’t yank Black after those 2 false starts Rhule should be canned. Ohio’s QB looked better than ours and they looked better coached often. If not for the heat and our depth I don’t think we win that game. 😕.

First game. Onward. At least we’re not Michigan.

The penalties might have cost us more than the drops. We lost 2 scoring opportunities because of penalties putting us way behind the chains and gave them one on that facemasj.

I’m hearing the depth/heat theory thrown around a lot. Hard to prove that one. I’m hoping we actually made some adjustments at half and came out improved, for once.

You might be right. But aren’t dumb penalties more fixable than drops? Seems like they might be.

Ohio lost 17 starters and a brand new head coach. Their football budget is 10 million- ours is over 100. Our NIL is over 25 million- they have less than 2. We have big 10 money - they don’t.

Obviously we are going to be much much deeper. Three running backs rotating, offensive linemen in and out etc etc. We were up by just 7 with 12 minutes left. Ohio just didnt have the quality depth needed to win a game in that crazy heat. I’m hoping to be wrong- but doubtful.

Chances are you’re right. I was just trying to be optimistic. You know, I’m always the eternal optimist, glass half full guy.

Both are bad. My point is the WRs are supposed to be THE guys. In the context of the offense that matters.

Both need to be cleaned up tho for sure...

Ohio has a good football program started by Solich and the past 4 years prior to yesterday they had won 9,11,10 and 10 games.
Very true however their head coach slimed himself out of that job and they lost 17 starters. It wasn’t the same team- but they did look well coached and prepared. Hats off to them for sure

If they keep playing like this, their head coach will get a promotion soon. I thought they looked like a more experienced team than us in the first half.
