Rece Davis on Pros in college football

It's hard to get clear rules when a judge in Pittsboro can overturn them on a whim.

They had clear rules. The problem was that you can't make clear rules without the players having a say. Since they don't have a union that can be collectively bargained with, they opened the rules up to the law.

Do I detect a slight lisp in his speech? I’ve never noticed this. Maybe it’s just the audio

He did a great job summarizing exactly how I think and feel. Rece deserves a spot on a new governing board of college football.

No matter what you think about Rece, he is spot on here. All of this drama is so unnecessary. We just need clear rules.

I feel like Rece is generally well liked. Definitely not as polarizing as his other Gameday colleagues. Seems like a very nice guy, too.

Whenever all this is sorted out I hope they rename the governing body from NCAA to PCAA. Professional Collegiate Athletic Association. No pretending so name it for what it is.

It’s pretty simple. Ameteurism has been dead a for several years. They’re getting paid to play ball. At this point, the only stipulation should be that they’re enrolled in the university they play for and are in good academic standing. If they’re a career college student athlete, good for them. Not really what I want but this has all turned into stupidity. Unless the TV contracts are killed and the ads with actual players are done away with, the universities are making money on the players. The players are making money from the exposure the university provides. NCAA is not really needed at this point if they need federal laws to be passed to govern because they’re toothless.
