Win total down to a juiced 2.5. Hard to see where those 3 wins come from if we are a TD underdog at BC
Being underdogs don't mean a team is a sure loser.
The Minutemen had the odds against them and came out a winner![]()

Unless Lonegran is hurt, I’m afraid the money line of Greg not being stubborn is way higher than the games lineI need to see who will start at QB. If it’s AJ, I’m going to take RU on money line to win.

BC's O is very limited and they had some injuries on their o-line vs. Cincy. RU should blitz and play man. The only long completions they had was vs. zone.
That being said, he can run and will probably light up the terrible RU D.
Toilet bowl 2026 on Friday night!
WrongBC seems bad. Cincinnati just drubbed BC. UMass might crush BC if they played.
Not sure about Washington but Houston for sure.BC did not look good in all facets of their game. I don't think they can cover Duff or Washington
sorry, meant Houston....mea culpaNot sure about Washington but Houston for sure.
Wellllll.....so did Rutgers. So call it an even wash there. Is anyone confident: A. The O-line can sqeak by with a win in the trenches? And B, our QB can be more accurate and NOT deliver the ball to the other team?BC did not look good in all facets of their game. I don't think they can cover Duff or Washington
Line now BC -3.5Guessing the spread comes down when lines are released tomorrow
I don't know who else was brought in, but lines makers clearly underestimated the impact of the transfer QB. Without looking at prior years, I have to strongly believe he is significantly better then whoever were the QB's for 16 straight losses. When I first saw that RU was favored by 29.5 over UMass, my first thought was that’s ridiculous and to put money on UMass, thinking we would easily win but by 16-20.
There are often surprising upsets of favorites, especially at the beginning of the season, but they usually are close and come down to the wire. Embarrassing, yes, but it happens.
But a near 30 point favorite losing by 16 is next level embarrassment.
That BC spread sounds accurate. I think Rutgers will rebound, play better, but still lose. Hope I’m wrong.
UMass understood the importance of violence.I don't know who else was brought in, but lines makers clearly underestimated the impact of the transfer QB. Without looking at prior years, I have to strongly believe he is significantly better then whoever were the QB's for 16 straight losses.
The fact that they also controlled the lines was quite surprising though. Probably some combo of us being bad, but UMass being better then previous seasons.
It won't matter if no one can throw them the ball.BC did not look good in all facets of their game. I don't think they can cover Duff or Washington
They had 53 new players, many who were castaways and looking to prove something. The representative of that group was former Rutgers player Tommy Hinspeter, who led UMass in tackles against Rutgers. On the other side, Rutgers overlooked their opponent, and believed the hype. Greg looked disconnected during the game. He said it himself- he did not have his team prepared. Cignetti alluded to this in his pre-game interview yesterday that you have to prepare for EVERY game.I don't know who else was brought in, but lines makers clearly underestimated the impact of the transfer QB. Without looking at prior years, I have to strongly believe he is significantly better then whoever were the QB's for 16 straight losses.

Or Dyzier Carter. Not sure about Washington but Houston for sure.
I could see GS using an injury to DL as an excuse to play AJ.Unless Lonegran is hurt, I’m afraid the money line of Greg not being stubborn is way higher than the games line
Neither did weBC did not look good in all facets of their game. I don't think they can cover Duff or Washington
AJ can.It won't matter if no one can throw them the ball.
He has been our head coach for how long and he didnt get his team prepared for the opener? What the hell did they do all summer? That being said, prepared or not, unless UMass is a fully reincarnated team, our players got their asses handed to themselves.Greg looked disconnected during the game. He said it himself- he did not have his team prepared.
