The players testified that if they had known the NCAA would give them a 5th year they would have stayed at LSU. That sounds reasonable but at the time the players started their college careers that was not the rule and when they let LSU they were under the rules that they had exhausted their eligibility. I dont think this ruling really stands up for what the rules were at the time the players left school

The injuction to stop this ruling coming in 3, 2, 1...

When Texas Tech planned to let that gambling addict QB play, schools like Michigan said they would not schedule them, in any sport. And I think it was a volleyball match that was already scheduled, was cancelled.

If LSU goes through with this, while no other school does, I think they get the same treatment.

LSU isn’t getting kicked out of the SEC.

can other sec teams refuse to play lsu ?
No, and certainly not at this juncture. I suppose non cons could in the future, but not this year, so its moot. Honestly this whole thing sucks, big time, but in the big picture it probably makes very little difference. From a depth perspective maybe, but if LSU was a legit top 10ish team are two guys who couldn't make the cut going to make that much difference.

The funny thing is that I suspect the SEC will get this case out of Louisiana and win the legal battle that conferences can establish eligibility rules and penalties. The judge saying these guys can play for LSU is one thing. Him then saying "and the conference can't do anything about it" I doubt survives a week. But who knows in this crazy time.

This is the exact same thing that went down during bball season with the Bama judge.

And now an Indiana judge is going to let 2 players back on the team for the Hoosiers this season.

Don't know if anyone noticed, but, LSU did NOT add those 2 players to the roster. This whole thing probably not a done deal just yet..

LSU did NOT add those two players to the roster yet. Probably concerned if they're in the playoffs of having them end up as playing ineligible players.
I had just read this. Thank goodness. I REALLY did not want to go there. Hopefully this deters any other programs from trying a similar stunt, and this issue can be put to rest forever.

Somebody posted today that Indiana just got an injunction for two players as well. Hopefully they give some thought to this. This stuff will probably be in court most of the year, and I sure wouldn't want to be the coach who does this and then finds out at the end of the season that they weren't eligible.

Even someone is morally corrupt as Cignetti has to know that if something is too dirty for Lane Kiffin to try, it’s probably not a good idea…

Perhaps he didn't care either way. Love him or hate him Kiffin is a master at playing the social media game. Indifference to him or his program will not be tolerated.

I'm unfamiliar with Cig as being morally corrupt. What did he do?

To me, Kiffin will always be a dirt ball.
