Forecast looks excellent. However, will students be there in full capacity along with other fans given the holiday?
I think it will be better than expected.
Weather looks really good. People want to see the new coach and players. It was a looonggggg off season and I think there is a lot of stadium and game day atmosphere intrigue.
my guess is 98,000

The wife and I will be in Greece and Turkey in October. To study up I’ve been reading a book on Ancient Greece and only this very morning learned that Socrates was put on trial basically as a scapegoat for Athens losing the Peloponnesian War. He could have chosen exile but goaded the jury into giving him the death penalty, his thinking being that he was already 71 years old and Athens executing him would guarantee his going down in history. “He was right. Throughout subsequent history the execution of Socrates is the most serious charge that has been brought by the critics of Athenian democracy.”

Stay cool, stay hydrated. Enjoy your trip, safe home.
Socrates could have chosen death by exile. Maybe that wasn't a thing in ancient Greece.

Marshall is the perfect opener for us.....they are not Texas, they are not IUP (no offense intended). A good solid team for us to circle in the off season and to test how the team looks this year. Marshall will be one of the favorites in their conference, they have a fair number of returning players who played last year. Will not be a cake walk, but we should win. Excited to see the Campbell Era........
sounds about what the ND fans said 3 yrs ago, and you know how that turned out.

Socrates 470-399 BC, just reminding myself.

Dang, really looking forward to Athens. A lot of great mathematicians walked those hills, all respect, looking forward to the pilgrimage.

We’re going on a Gate 1 tour. Laugh if you must, I can take it, but I’m kinda fantasying about asking the tour director for a whiteboard and marker so I can show them Euclid’s proof of the Pythagorean Theorem, circa 300 BC, I can do it in three minutes, I can rock that sucker.

Edit: back to the Marshall game, #subjectlinesmatter. Thanks for indulging me.

I will be attempting to tune into the PSU radio broadcast with poor WiFi and internet from Aegina, Greece. If that fails it will be Yahoo Sports app play by play updates which will suck.
I've done a lot of international travel and I remember watching PSU vs MSU while I was in Greece and PSU vs Indiana while on a cruise ship. In recent years things have become much more difficult. I've found it nearly impossible to stream games even with a VPN.

That's a very poor choice of words that I find offensive.
Once again, an inane attack on James Franklin for doing what many if not most P4 programs are currently doing.
Playing 9 conference games has led to this model scheduling. But, labeling a portion of our fanbase, such as you, as delusional, irrational and entitled finds evidence on this forum daily.
You realize no one here likes you, listens to you, or thinks you matter, right? I noticed how few interact with you—they must all have you on ignore. That must be why you use the “alter egos” you switch back and forth with, so you can pretend things aren’t as lonely as they really are.

Maybe one day I’ll put you on ignore like the others did, but for now, I pity you.

Call me a conspiracist, but I don’t believe that the poster currently known as marshall2323 is the same BWICAC “marshall” from the old TomBoard. The writing style is too different.

I actually think that our resident “VPN Pitt Troll of 100 different names” is acting as “Marshall”. He creepily went as far as recording the date of Marshall’s wife passing (which Marshall frequently shared) so that he could periodically and accurately post the years / months/ days since her passing in his posts to appear credible ☹️

I blame myself for getting suckered into Pitt troll boy’s latest sick ruse. He lives in his mother’s basement for a reason.

I will be there and I love the 3:30 start which will give me some time to do some people watching at Cafe 210 West before the game.

I think the fact that this is CMC's 1st game will give attendance a little bump over what it would have been if CJF was back and we were playing Marshall in Week 1.

Do you come to an internet message board to make friends? Your initial statement, for which I'll grant you the benefit of the doubt and call stupid (although it appears racist) is evidence that you care what I think. The above response simply corroborates that. You and your buddies who are clearly intellectually challenged, are also inept internet sleuths.

The holiday has minimal effect. The opponent and game quality matter.
The students will be there in nearly normal numbers (They are on campus anyway, so why not? It is the season-ender, when most go home for Thanksgiving, that the students are no-shows).
The non-students? Meh. Those whose primary draw is to tailgate? They will be there of course.

Of course, PSU will announce 100,000+ in attendance. 25,000 of which will be very stealthily disguised as empty seats.
Thanks for clarifying a situation that hasn't changed in 30 years.

So I’m 60 right, with chemo brain, 3/4 through these posts I had no idea what the original post asked. 😂 thinking this thread is about Greece. Which as a history guy is fine by me.

I think it will be a very large crowd. Long weekend, good weather, people curious about CMC.

We're going to Buffalo. We always try to do an early 'low key' game in hopes that the crowd isn't overwhelming and it's not too chaotic for the in-laws/kids. That said, the person I get my tix from said they had a lot of interest from folks in their tickets for the game. FWIW.
Does that person have reason to believe you are a fool? :)

In any event, Buffalo? Those tickets are nearly free (and will be getting cheaper) Even the "higher priced sections" - like these

1788498077792.png

And already thousands and thousands of them available (many thousands that PSU didn't sell, along with thousands already listed for resale) - and that number will only go up, probably substantially, over the next two weeks (as more people make the call on coming to the game or not). And those PSU wasn't able to sell will certainly not be bought (Since you can get better tickets for far less in the resale market than PSU's face value for their cheapest tickets, so only a fool would buy any of the unsold stuff from PSU)
"Non-premium" seats? There will be thousands for $15 (or whatever the listing minimum is - less than the cost of a bad can of beer), with tickets in the most desirable sections going for $20-25 bucks or so (they are already in that range - and we haven't even hit the "price drop" time yet).

Do you do the NYT History Quiz every week? Eight questions, really Fun. You have to place all eight answers in chronological order. They almost always sneak in a couple BC questions.

I mean, they have almost a dozen seats together plus parking passes. I’m sure their friends who were also interested were because of those reasons, not demand for the opponent.

Nobody cares. Seriously, it’s like family day with cheap tickets. That’s it.

Do you care? Tgar will be in the stands trying to familiarize himself with the Iowa State roster and catch up with folks he hasn’t seen in a while but this is a ZERO INTEREST CONTEST.
Sold my tickets for $26 each.
