He should 1000% be fired just for stat padding AK when he could have prepared his future QB. If AJ does not start next week I will not watch another game this year
I love sports, and Rutgers is by far my first priority ( Yankeees, Knicks, Rangers), how disappointing thats already taken away from you after the first game, for the rest of the season.
He 100% needs to be fired....between his refusal to run back KO's or Punts. He just doesn't play the game any longer

Weak and feckless. That’s his coaching style and it bleeds all over the field and players. They play scared, tentative, afraid to make mistakes. Just like he coaches.

Kirk and Greg are very dull on offense and QBs. Tonight you had a UMass head coach who was an RU DC. He knew all the weak spots on RU offense.
Agreed. All 3 phases. Returner especially if you are just going to fair catch it is inexcusable to let the ball over your head. 4-5 penalties in specials and muscled all over the field. Strength and conditioning needs to be included as well. Bad performance by the 105 staff members.

Lonergan was terrible. I hope AJ gets a shot next game. He looked better than Lonergan avoiding the blitz. Broke one tackle at least before taking the sack and held onto the ball.
But honestly - we rushed for 30 total yards against UMass. Think about how bad that is. The run blocking has to be beyond awful. we averaged 1.2 ypc. I have a feeling Greg thought the D was better because he didn’t realize how bad our run game would be.

Imagine the guy in the stands who donated $100k this year to watch that?! Had a nice tailgate, all amped for the game and then Rutgers played like that. It’s like investing in offshore windmills
I don’t think Greg was planning to bring in AJ at all. Lonergan was hurt. I bet Greg didn’t use those time outs at the end because he didn’t want to deal with another storyline if AJ threw another TD. About him picking the wrong guy.
But the truth is, we couldn’t stop UMass and the poor run blocking made us one dimensional so we weren’t winning no matter which QB Greg picked. If we can only rush for 1.2 ypc all season, we better be planning on way more 50/50 deep balls to KJ. We really might not beat Howard.

Oh one hundred percent he wanted to avoid playing AJ in case he panned out better than Lonergan. Which, it's early in the season but it's definitely looking to be that way.
Greg always tries to be cute to the Nth degree; Two examples today. The two delay of game penalties due to unnecessary shifts in punt formation and the illegal substitution because the players jog slowly off the field to eat up the play clock.

Wrong. It’s a process. He’ll get it fixed. As long as the players and coaches Keep Choppin there’s a bright light at the end of the tunnel. Championships. Plural. He’s a great coach, just you wait and see.
