NBA announces punishments for LA Clippers after Kawhi probe

As a result of the investigation into the Kawhi Leonard signing, the NBA docked the Clippers five first-round picks, fined them $30 million and suspended owner Steve Ballmer for a year. The Clippers plan to challenge the findings "through every avenue."

If it reports the fines as income it can deduct the gifts to charities.

Fines aside, the NBA is set up so that it pays little or no taxes. That is not the case for the teams and their owners.
