Ohio State, Oregon, Georgia, Penn State, you know the names, will prosper. Everyone else, not so much. Don't want to pay ridiculous prices for a Penn State ticket? There will be plenty of programs out there begging for your money. I just looked on StubHub and Pitt has plenty of seats for under $100 their opening weekend 9/5 against the Miami Redhawks. Some of them looked like pretty good seats too. The following weekend against UCF is even better.

To prove my point even further I looked at Temple football games on StubHub. Army vs. Temple, 9/25. Tickets are $15, $16, $23. All their games are like that. Give it up Temple. I predict within ten years they drop down to the next division playing a schedule of Ivy League type teams.

Tickets in the lower bowl for Penn State vs Marshall are as low as $ 50.00. If you don’t mind sitting in the upper deck they can be yours for $ 27.00 currently. These tickets will all go unsold for the most part and you will pick up seats for even less on Friday.

We all know you will be viewing Saturday’s game vs Marshall from your private, fully tax-deductible and air-conditioned suite but you shouldn’t belittle people of lesser means.

Most Pennsylvanians can’t afford $27 -$50 tickets …. plus parking and modest food.

Tgar will be outside and grateful it is a 3:30 game as the sun will have passed to some degree.

No suite, no AC. Just pointing out due to the changing dynamics of college football there will always be good seats available for a reasonable price because trying to sell out 108,000 at full price is a pipe dream.

Totally agree when you start to add up all the costs including driving and parking, it is way more than $ 27.00.

Well see, this is the whole thing, right? People in the bottom part of the K can’t even afford McDonalds and Walmart lately. Go look at their stock prices and comments at earnings releases. So if people can’t afford cheap burgers and imported plastic crap from China, they certainly can’t afford the travel, hotels, parking, food, etc. that college football demands.

It will be really interesting to see if the attendance issues from this past weekend spill over to the rest of college football, or if it was unique to week 0. I certainly think PSU will be fine, as well as Michigan, OSU, and a number of SEC schools where football is life. But as others have pointed out, there may be a huge issue forming for tier 2 schools and lower.

So the geniuses at Penn state want you to select your seats starting next week for 2027. Only problem is I’m not attending a game until sept 18. So how the hell do I know if my seat is that great in the west stands that I have for 2026.

If you weren't in need of being enlightened then your post makes no sense. You can miss aspects of what the game used to be without pretend there was a time in the past 50+ years where it wasn't a farm system. It's all it ever was. Some just didn't want to accept that.

I'm the fool because you want to pretend there was a time in the last 50 years when college football wasn't the developmental league for the NFL? If that makes me a fool then I'm gladly a fool.

College football is and has always been both a farm system and an entity unto itself. Compare it to minor league baseball. Does anyone care? It is a farm system and little more than that. CFB is a different entity. Want proof? Look at the $$ each generates.
