RBs. From the press conference today it sounds like the offense will be slow and methodical in their first game as they figure things out.

FG. First drive bogs down and we punt. 2nd drive bogs down around the 20 yd line. Barker kicks a 37 yd to narrow the deficit. Marshall 7 - PSU 3.

So you think Marshall scores a TD first? That's a different take. I know their QB is one of the favorites for their league offensive POY but what else do they have on offense?

Yes. At the beginning of games, Penn State never seems to be prepared on defense, or offense.

Perhaps that was a symptom of the last coaching regime. Let's see what 2026 beholds.

You're correct about the past. I hope that is not a continuing occurrence but it could be with all the new players and coaching staff.

I think that definitely wasn’t true under Manny Diaz. Under Pry, I felt like we always gave up a TD drive on the first possession of the second half. Edit: This was supposed to be in response to the thought that the team was never prepared on offense or defense to start a game.
I says a running back scores first.

There is nothing that melts the heart of an old football coach more than the thought of a fullback stepping on the toes of a linebacker attempting to fill on an isolation play.

He stated in several pressers, even yesterday's, that Finn Furmanek (sp?), TE from State College HS, has played some fullback in camp. Sounds like there must be some plays that include a fullback. "I" formation fullback dive at the goal-line Let's go!
That's good. But I prefer a "strong T " formation on the goal line which gives the fullback a lead blocker. ;)
