What is your best "must have" snack/meal for a college football Saturday at the house in front of the TV?

Im in need of some new fat boy snacks this season. Can be a meal, a snack, a traditional food, etc.

Not specific to football but really good…sausage pinwheels

3 cups of bisquick, 1 cup of milk (roughly same as biscuit ratio). Roll it on a counter. Cook sausage in a skillet then put it on top. Top with cheese, then roll it up and slice it. Put the slices on a tray and cook at the biscuit temp until they look done. Need flour to prevent sticking and sometimes falls apart when moving it to the tray, but really good

Start with a great Bloody Mary mid morning during the talking heads shows.
Appetizers that are easy and delicious and everyone loves is buffalo chicken dip along with grilled sausage, homemade pimento cheese and your favorite pickles.
Also, cannot go wrong if you know how to make good cornbread, make a creamy sausage and crawfish sauce to go with it.

My go to meats are either smoked chicken wings or smoked chicken quarters.
Easy to throw on the grill and let them go for a couple of hours without having to watch over it constantly like burgers or a steak.
That way you can watch the game and enjoy a few ice cold beers.

Sausage/cream cheese/rotel dip
Meatballs and smokies in bbq sauce in the crockpot
Wings off the smoker.
Ice cold Mello Yello
Sounds amazing if I can chew and swallow it! Man do I look forward to life if my surgery goes right. After my last spinal surgery first I lost my ability to swallow for over a year I should have sued him. Then lost my teeth due to my vitamin D bottoming out. On the bright side I can swallow decently and am going to get a full mouth of implant teeth as long as I make it through my spinal deconstruction/reconstruction etc. I shall be eating great like ya’ll champs of game day food, a guy can dream can’t he?

My mom made those all the time when I was a kid and they’re still a favorite of mine. We’ve never cooked the sausage beforehand, though - have always spread it on raw and it cooks in the oven…

If you're firing up the smoker, throw a block or two of cream cheese on there topped with your favorite rub. Smear some pepper jelly on there when it's done if you wanna get fancy. I like it with scoops.

I ain't ever mad about having some pistachios closeby whenever watching a ballgame.

Boudin. Takes minutes to grill. I've also been making for a couple of years boudin grilled cheese which my kids love.

Boiled peanuts. I buy the ones in the can like you see at convenience stores. The plain is a little too plain and the hot and spicy is a little too spicy for the Mrs so I buy a can of each. Both go in a crockpot and I have perfect boiled peanuts to snack on as I’m grilling and watching tv.

Full fledged diabetes, now. Game snacks a fruit, no alcohol, and no fun.

wilford brimley 80s GIF

We had an older gentleman and his wife that tailgated with us, he had the diabetic insulin pump on his belt. He was really good during the week with his diet and exercise. But on gameday, all bets were off at our tents. He would eat and eat everything in site and pump the hell out of that insulin pump he wore. "Diabeetus" wasn't a word in his vocabulary on gameday Saturdays.

For Breakfast Screwdriver or Planters Punch only with Myers Rum though
For Lunch - Whatever beer I’m in the mood for. Maybe light like a Lite or the Heineken mini keg. Sometimes I get fancy like a local brew. Maggie by Alga Brewing company or something from Perfect Plain. Or maybe a Delerium Tremens. I like the Belgian Stongs as my avatar would suggest.
For dinner either Rum with a splash of coke, Bourbon on the rocks or maybe Old Fashioned depending on how many beers I had.

Then 11 pm raid the fridge for whatever I cooked but didn’t eat that day with propel flavored water and watch a West Coast ACC or Big 12 team since they took PAC after dark away from us.

My wife got a recipe years ago that was from some restaurant in Alabama. Not sure which one. But try it and let me know what you think. We call it the Redneck Charcuterie board...

Saltine cracker with
Palmetto pimento cheese spread
A wickles pickle slice
A slice of country pleasin sausage
And a little yellow mustard on top

Usually a hit when anybody tries it, and I have to have it during football Saturdays.
Some good recipes above, and I'm glad somebody mentioned boiled peanuts. I love em but forget about em.

Do this addition to your recipe: once bisquick mixture is laid out, spread cream cheese over it and diced jalapenos. Then add sausage and cheddar cheese.

Ice cold Mello Yello
Man, I have not had a mello yello in probably about 40 years... but just reading that brought back good memories of summer camp in MS where there was an old school vending machine. 25 cents would get you a mello yello in the long neck bottle. Ice cold. It was heaven.

Couldn't beat one one of those green glass bottles. They also had orange juice in them back in the day they've since removed I'm pretty sure. Still my favorite of the carbonated beverages, though.
