Definitely surprising.
100%. You would never guess by the car I drive (i have literally driven 3 cars total in 40+ years) or the cloths I wear that we are well off. I certainly don't value money / possessions like some folks.

I have done very well at my job and have been a saver. Northeast Ohio values.

Its a scrimmage. Get better and get reps. No need to abuse the poor. Thats a dabo move
OP is right though. We see other major college programs playing these teams as their opener and they’re putting up somewhere between 40 and 70 points or more and we can never do that. We seem to struggle in our opener and even though we win, it’s not pretty and we end up winning something like 35 to 17…

According to ESPN this game opened as South Carolina -33.5 and now it is -36.5 with the over/under at 53.5. Those numbers suggest South Carolina will win 45-7.

In these types of games, I believe the coaches plan on using the first team for about four to five possessions. Then after halftime put in the backups to see who they can trust to put on the field in future games. Sometimes it just does not work out like this, and the first team has to be on the field longer than they expected due to situation of the game.

They are pretty bad. They lost to TTU, FSU and OU by a combined 172-24 last year. They beat Merrimack 21-17.

I say it every year and it never happens. This is the kind of game we need to put away in the first half. If we have any designs on being a good team, challenging even to be in the CFP discussion, this a game that will be over at halftime. It seems in Beamer's tenure we have played lesser teams close and then pile it on late for an impressive final score, but it takes a while to get there.

I want to see a blitz in this game. 21-0 at the end of the first quarter. Starters should maybe the play the first series of the 2nd half, but that's it.
If we don't blow them out, we are hurting cowboys.

Here is what I see happening Saturday:

We will come out and blow Kent State off of the field. Beamer will keep his foot on their throats the whole game and pile the points on. Kent may score 17 points, with 14 coming late against the backups. I can see a 56-17 final score.

After the game, everyone will be convinced Beamer and Co. have turned things around and a playoff berth is pretty well guaranteed.
