That's a big line. I think the Hawks play well, but with the heat I could see them playing a lot of guys especially in the 2nd half if they get a comfortable lead. I'd probably take the under on both.

Given the fact that the QB battle will still be playing out for this game, I don't see Lester backing off in the 2nd half because he's going to want to see some things from them. NIU is one of the worst FBS teams this year. I think they're 130 out of 134 or something like that.

I think this ends up something like 45-6.

the over was 45.5 and people hammered it…. now it’s up to 46.5

90% of the money is on the over in Draftkings

This. Prob going to be something like 14-10 at half. People freak out a little bit, finish the game with 2 more TDs and a field goal and shut them out in the 2nd. End it 31-10 while people melt down leading up to ISU.
I see it going the opposite way for a change. This OL is going to maul folks and I think we get multiple big play TDs in the first half from the run game and at least one to the TE as well in the pass game. I think halftime is something like 31-3. We tack on a few TDs in the 2nd half and win going away. I think we finish with about 250 on the ground and another 200 in the air. NIU is god awful bad this year.

Hecklinski gets the start and moves the Hawks quickly down the field culminating in a perfectly placed 12yd TD pass to Diaz. 7-0.

Same thing on the 2nd possession as JH goes 4-4 and bootlegs a rush TD from the 3 on 3rd down. Hawks lead 14-0 mid 1stQ

On 3rd possession and the Hawks moving the chains once again Hecklinski scrambles for a 6 yard gain but fumbles. NIU recovers. Brown replaces Hecklinski who spends the rest of the season on the bench.

I don't know about the outcome, but given previous game threads I predict at least a half dozen posters declaring a loss at some point during a contest that Iowa ends up winning by at least 3 scores.

C'mon. That's Iowa's RB philosophy. For QB's, you need to throw 4 pick-6s, fumble 7 times and commit at least 2 felonies to lose your job.

Kirk and Lester will not show much of the playbook and He never runs up scores , Iowa's offense in the early Season has never in game 1 went all out , I already hammered NIU +31

As the eternal glass half empty guy... I'm worried that both QBs press even more than normal because they both want to prove they are the best. This could look like not throwing into any sort of coverage and take far too long to throw/ throw where only the WR can get it because they know KF hates turnovers. OR they press the issue to show what they can do and struggle with turnovers or throw contested balls (which might be okay to RVZ and Boogeyman).

Point being, while I think you are right that they won't show anything, I think the plays they do get to make we will see one of these two actions take place more times than not.

I am not going to panic or feel the season is lost. I already predicted 8-4 or 7-5 but obviously hoping for better.

I think game one is about 17-10 range. I would love to be wrong. I just have too many questions. I think this team gets significantly better throught the year.

First when was the last time Iowa scored 50 points , 2nd To beat +31 You have to pretty much shut down the other teams offense all day including if You get a big lead the 3s and 4s not allowing scoring against NIUs 1s , Add to that with a large lead it will be very vanilla and run heavy and not wanting to show anything new before Iowa State week , all those factors and historical numbers of Iowa early in the Season point to taking NIU and the points, I cannot see Iowa losing but I do not see a cover

Hawks put up 51 in 2021 against Maryland.

I believe the 90% is in reference to percentage of bets placed
yes ….. last I knew bets required money but I guess your referring to the fact that some bets are larger.

sometimes I forget some posters analyze what I post like they’re looking for fly **** on a popsicle

I’m going to call you fly **** from now on 🤣

Wasn't completely sure myself.

But it can be an important distinction in handicapping, as it can define where the sharp money lies

31.5 with o/u of 44.5 have not changed. Question. I have been to literally hundreds of games, many of where the weather was hot and humid. Saturdays high may be clase to the all time record of 95 according to some reports. I wonder it there is any possibility of moving the game to later in the day? Don't know if this has ever been done.

We need a rainout, or at least a 2-hour lightning storm...

15 yd run off tackle first play. 9 yard run off tackle second play. 14 yard run off tackle 3rd play. Planned seam to the tight end for a TD. We end up the day putting up 300 yards rushing with 4 different running backs. 109 yards passing. Brown gets 73 yards and heck gets 36.
