Lee's Summit (Missouri) (1-0) at Omaha Westside (1-0) / Lee's Summit North (Missouri) (1-0) at Millard South (1-0)
- Some of Missouris better squads verse Nebraska top 2 teams. Should be a good night of football in the metro. I'm going to go Nebraska 2-0 vs Missouri.. Score? I don't know. Glad to see some top teams in the state getting out there and playing some other schools/states now-a-days. Good for the sport and good for Nebraska.
Class B:
McCook (1-0) at Waverly (1-0)
It's not the longest drive of the night.. Thank Norris vs Scottsbluff; however, It's the most exciting game in Class B thish week, in my opinion. Waverly looked like the defending state champs in week 1. The Bison defense only allowed a FG against Crete.. But, the real questions, can the Bison offense get rolling enough to threaten the Vikings? I don't think so.
Waverly: 27 - McCook: 7
Class C1:
Syracuse (1-0) at Ashland-Greenwood (1-0)
- Look.. There's probably other games people are going to say "what about, etc etc". But, to me, it's an easy pick. The Rockets put up a W against Wahoo (yes, 26 ish W in a row Wahoo) and it wasn't particularly close. But, hear me out, Chad Fox will have that squad rolling into November. Sometimes, a loss like that is really needed to re-focus the mind. I don't think Syracuse is a pretender, though. I think they're good. Real good. Big up front, fast across all positions and physical. Mentally tough as well, not a lot of fear there. BUT.... Ashland-Greenwood. 61-7 against K Cath? Is C1 completely wide open? Is Ashland-Greenwood ready to hoist the trophy? Perhaps there's a dark horse looming? I don't know. A lot of season left.
Ashland-Greenwood: 42 - Syracuse: 20
Class C2:
Norfolk Catholic (1-0) at Wahoo Neumann (1-0)
- C2 week 2 leaves a lot to be desired. Just nothing really interesting happening this week. So, I'll go with this one. Simply because Norfolk Catholic only beat Logan View 10-0 last week? (Tells me Logan View is headed right direction - in that T formation!) Back to this game. Neumann is better or are they?
Wahoo Neumann: 21 - Norfolk Catholic: 20
Class D1:
Johnson-Brock (1-0) at Sandy Creek (1-0)
- JB with a beat down against Lourdes.. Sandy Creek survived the STALL from Sutton (refer to last week's thread to see how upset that fella got). I think this has the makings of a good game - could see JB scoring a few points here or there. But, Sealy (sp?) Sealey?... QB1 at Sandy.. Too good. So long as he's on the team odds are SC wins each and every game until he graduates, at the least.
Sandy Creek: 48 - Johnson Brock: 18
Class D2:
East Butler (1-0) at Oakland-Craig (1-0)
- Disclaimer.. I know about nothing here.. EXCEPT, the fact that O-Cs freshmen QB had like 400 yards of offense and 4 INTs and KR for TD and probably other things. O-C took a varsity football hiatus last year, sad deal, that staff kept the ship steady and has came out firing on all cylinders this season. Good for them, good for their communities, etc.
Oakland Craig: 44 - East Butler: 36
Class D3:
Central Valley (1-0) at Archangels Catholic (1-0) / O'Neill St. Mary's (1-0) at Burwell (1-0)
- The football gods have shined upon class D-3 with two week 2 absolute giants on the schedule.. I don't know much about any of the 4 communities - but I know they're all 4 really good at football.
Central Valley: 36 - Archangels: 30
Burwell: 38 - St Mary's: 36
