They’ve beaten us with some pretty bad quarterbacks in the past though.
We’ve helped in that department too. Other than Casey Thompson Rhule has started 2 Freshaman the last 2 seasons against them ( Dylan wasn’t the reason why we lost) and Purdy giving the game away in the final minute and Smothers making his first career start against them helped them out as well as there pathetic QB play.

Is 4-8 or 8-4 more likely? What would you rank this staff vs the 9 BIG games this year?

I won’t watch much or any of the non con. Very interested to see what the game at Sparty looks likes. Fitz is always tough for N.

You’ve definitely become a worst case fan. 😕
Grossly unfair dingle. I don’t judge other fans loyalty to the Huskers based on whether they are optimists or pessimists. You, for example, are an optimist. I don’t judge you negatively for that even if we have now royally sucked as a program for 11 years. You are who you are and if you want to be an optimist no matter what then so be it.

But my pessimism about this season is grounded in the actual empirical reality of our program for the past 11 years. And if I choose to be open and honest ** as a fan ** about what I think our real prospects are then that is perfectly legit.

My honest opinion is that Rhule is a lousy coach. My honest opinion is that our roster is not as good as he says it is, especially on the defensive line. Therefore, my honest opinion is we will once again be weak against the run and struggle to rush the passer. It is my honest opinion that our running back room might be deep, but it is deep in mediocrity. We are going to see just how much we miss EJ. We do not have a difference maker at the RB position which is why the depth chart is still wide open. What it means is that none of them have distinguished themselves. Therefore, my honest opinion is we are once again drinking offseason koolaid. We will struggle to win 6.

Penny, I’m not saying I’m sold on Rhule either he needs to prove a lot this year.

But I have two season tickets and it doesn’t do me any good to be negative before the ball hasn’t even kickoff.

1) We don’t have Dylan as our starter.
2) I’m high on Geep as offensive line coach.
3. I’m going to enjoy Aurich style of defense much better that Butler trash he put out last season.

Fair enough. But it hasn’t done me any good either when I have drunk the offseason koolaid and get all hyped up only to watch us lose 6-7 games. I don’t have season tickets but I do fly to Lincoln twice a year for games. Costs me a fair amount. Then we lose. So I have found realism instead of forced optimism to be far easier to deal with. I am still excited for the season. That never changes. But now I go into the season without any expectations. Makes things a lot easier.

4-8 is much more likely than 8-4.

We haven't had a convincing win against any of the B1G teams on our schedule in recent history, and we're likely to have 4 ugly losses.

Michigan St will be better, Maryland (who it took a Dylan Raiola miracle to beat last year) will likely be better, Fat Bielema will likely find a way to outsmart Rhule again, Jedd Fisch has always been a better coach than Rhule, and we aren't going to kick Iowa's *** until Rhule and his stink is out of the building.

We really should've just rode with Mickey for a couple years. At the worst, he would've stockpiled talent.
